My guess is also that it's a filler track, or just an album cut

Isn't that the same thing? lol

in cases, it can be the same, but its not officially on the album so it could be a circulating track, there are tons of them all over for everyone. You cant have a filler track without an official album being released, so filler "now" in the digital age is not what it was in the days when music sold.

This is dreadful! shake When will she realize that people don't want to see her in little to no clothing while singing Britney leftovers? Its really tired. I was able to catch Xtina on her B2B tour and she has a lot of potential but chooses to lower herself to this confused Who is Nicki Minaj anyway?

My guess is that the track will do better than you guys expect. But I guess we'll wait and see. As far as I can see it's already getting more coverage on music blogs, twitter, etc than "Not Myself Tonight" did.

Look at the response it's getting on last.fm:

http://www.last.fm/music/...cki+Minaj)

thing is though the track might not even be on the record, its an instant response that is spurred more by PR that people have working for them, there is alot of push on Nicki on every track she does at this point, there was alot of attention for her on Cassie's track "Fuck U Silly" with her rap on that and it was getting buzz underground but the buzz wore off too, so it depends on how strong her team is and if its really going to make the record, since there still isnt an officially set track list

Damn, y'all need to chill.

I love the song. It's gonna drop hard in the club and be all over the radio.

Funny thing is, I generally really DISLIKE Christina Aguilera. I hated her last album, save for a handful of songs, I didn't like 'Stripped' much either, and the only joint I dug from the early days is "Genie In A Bottle". I wasn't really digging "Not Myself Tonight".....but for me, this joint is the heat.

And Nicki kills it too. She's one of the best new rappers out there IMO. She's got mad flows and is quirky and creative. Plus she can destroy most male rappers, as she proved in the BET cypher when she tore up Joe Budden and Buckshot.

Well i will have to disagree, its just a track that anyone could pull off, which i thought christina was going to step out from but clearly thats not what she is being directed to do, they have turned her away from early ideas for this album clearly, as for Nicki, shes quirky but not much else, her writing is better than most commercial rappers, but shes on a line where she can sell out which she is, or be different and not care about selling, my guess she will sell out. As for the flow, well, tearing up Joe Budden who is lame is not really a big thing, Joe has been over and done before he even started. I would love to hear her in more creative rap rather than being put on commerical nonsense, like xtina and mariahs song.

Strangely though the chorus is very much like a sped up version of Kelly Rowlands "Like This" with Eve

Well there U go, lack of diversity from a Producer/Beatmaker, he practically did the same exact thing.

I'm sorry, but I thought this was supposed to be this really artsy pop album where she collaborates with a bunch of smarty pants edgy pop artists like Sia....uh, wha happened? This wouldn't be terrible for filler (maybe a b-side) but I'm not even semi interested in the album now. The beginning of the song sounded like it was going to be epic or something.

BTW, they said that it leaked, not that it's a single (if they were smart, they would make it a bonus track not on the proper album).
[Edited 5/8/10 22:57pm]

If they were smart they'll make it disappear.

If they were REALLY smart, they would try to invent that "Men In Black" thing so they can erase the memory of people that heard it!

I dont dislike Polow though i thought he would be stronger than he is the way he was "talked up" The Kelly track i liked and always wondered why Mariah didnt do a style/song like that because she could, but, well, we know Mariah cant change.

lol I could totally see Mariah doing a track like that. Not Christina's though, too skanky... "Touch My Body" or "Honey" is about as suggestive as Mariah gets.

Is this girl even a star anymore?

What hits has she had besides genie in a bottle and beautiful?

This girl can say what she wants about britney spears. But at least britney has a bunch of songs people remember.

This is unlistenable. Nothing at all original or at least catchy.

She needs to stop trying so hard and learn how to sing a melody without all the vocal gymnastics.

She must want to KILL gaga!

I beg to differ; Christina's already had enough hits for her own compilation, easily comparable to Britney, except that Britney has been way more active 2007-present.

U r probably right. I guess I feel like christinas songs are forgettable and haven't held up well over time.
But that's just my opinion. She must be relevant if it's being talked about I guess!

There's a lot riding on this album I think. Britney's lucky to have all those hits 2007-2008 before THE GAGA.

No i agree on the "forgettable" part, though songs like "Beautiful" is probably going to be her "classic" song, but i think its alot to do with her vocals/song structures with the vocals. U see having a great voice is good, but the arranging has to be there, and she is doing material that alot of others are doing and can do, that are less talented vocally, so she is one of those artists that are on that line of "what are you gonna do, sell, or be different"

I remember thinking her "Dirrty" song and the others like it on her "Stripped" album were just so contrived and pathetic but this is even worse lol

Yes, she is a star. Unfortunately she doesn't stick to the "new album every two years" routine, and she gets a bit out of people's heads over the usual 4 year period between records.

Don't play dumb on this - she's had a lot of hits, and you know it. If she didn't, we wouldn't be talking about her. "Ain't No Other Man" and "Candyman" were all over the place when they came out. You couldn't get away from them, and Palladia still plays them in their HD Videos blocks. "What A Girl Wants", "Come On Over", "Reflection", "Genie In A Bottle", "Can't Hold Us Down", "Dirrty", "Beautiful", "Fighter", "The Voice Within", "Hurt", "Oh Mother", "I Turn To You", "Keeps Gettin' Better". And let's not forget "Lady Marmalade".

Britney is no comparison. The girl can't sing, and is nothing but a plastic, vag-flashing, drug-addicted, head-shaving, lost little girl with two exhusbands, and two kids she can barely are for, who is a used up product of a team of producers, and her wacky father and mother, and whoever that middle eastern dude was she had around her. And what farkin' Britney songs can you sing off the top of your head right now? "Oops I Did It Again?" Maybe "Crazy"? Or that horrid last-minute-duet with Madonna that has virtually no melody or hook and sounds like Paulinho Da Costa on speed? I didn't see Herbie Hancock or Andrea Bocelli asking Britney to get on their record(s).

All that said, the song in question is horrid, no doubt. It's ridiculous for a girl with her talent and potential to still grow as an artist. As midiscover said, the girl still doesn't have her own sound or style at this point. Kind of worries me.

I have to disagree with your statement. Britney has proved herself WAY more than Christina.

As for hits I can sing off the top of my head, how about:

Born To Make You Happy
I'm A Slave 4 U
Toxic
Boys
Gimme More
Piece Of Me
Break The Ice
Radar
Womanizer
3

Theres a reason that Rolling Stone said BLACKOUT is the most influential pop album of the last 5 years.
