Huge fan of Sound Barrier. Really underrated but they got their share of props in some of the metal mags back then. Black Death was REALLY unknown by the metalheads back then.

I heard rumours that Sound Barrier were going to do a reunion CD soon. Hope it's true. Spacey T

and Vic Johnson (Bus Boys/Total Eclipse/Sammy Hagar) are 2 of my fave guitarists.

Don't forget the Bad Brains and the BRC rock bands from the late 80's too.

I know about Sound Barrier, Bad Brains, and the Bus Boys, but I've never heard of Black Death before.

I saw Spacey T play when he was in Fishbone a few yers ago.

Speaking of 80s black rock...does anyone remember Xavion? Anyone know about Jean Beauvoir?

Onr of the best ones I ever heard just had their record released last year after 35 years of delay:

DEATH

(I don't think this is the same band as Black Death.)

Death's album is called "For The Whole World To See." Recorded in 1975 it's surprisingly heavy and fast - it really does sound like the first days of Bad Brains. Anyway that's one of my fave records of the last year; check it out if you can.

Jean is back with Crown Of Thorns. They just put a new CD out awhile ago and are touring for it.

Xavion was a great band. They have some clips on Utube posted.

I remember Jean back when he played bass with the Plasmatics. Does Crown Of Thorns have anything released in the US?

Yes. C.O.T have a CD out called "Faith". It came out last summer. There's also clips on YouTube

from their only N.Y.C/USA gig from last year.

You can get the CD at F.Y.E or Best Buy.
