Kanye West Appreciation

with everyone hating on Mr. West, I have to say "he's one of the illest cats to ever pick up the mic." What's your thoughts?

HE's my personal favorite. His flow is ok, but he has an amazing ear for beats and I like the fact that after GRaduation, he took a gamble with 808s and Heartbreak. Looking forward to "Good Ass Job" this summer.

I do enjoy Kanye. Saw him in concert and he was really good (Kanye, Fantasia, Keyshia Cole). I feel bad for him for what he's gone through too. I think his ego is somewhat justified, his beats are skrong, and his flow is not the worst I've ever heard. He is a deep intelligent man, and I like that he tells it as it is on wax and in real life.

But sometimes he really just acts the Supreme Asshole hmph!

Name anyone better in the Rap game today than Kanye?? I'm talking strictly Hip Hop. This is a non Prince thread because, of course, P is the illest.

I liked that video for 'Flashing Lights'. He should try to recreate it exactly for his live show! Home Depot has a sale on shovels!

He is very misunderstood because he tells the truth. People don't like when your honest and tell everything exactly how it suppose to be told.He is a genius and been through a lot and trying to find himself. I completely understand him & glad I had a chance to be in his presence.
eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

Some people may disagree but I wanna see him push his music in the direction of 808s and HEartbreak (minus the autotune). His first three albums are classics so I like the fact he took a risk, but only Kanye and his ego could have pulled that off.

His ego is waaay to big for the talent he has.

And even if your mega talented, theres no need to be a bitch like he often is. If your a teen/early 20's then I could forgive such ego, but otherwise, never.

He tells the truth about what? He just attension seeks. Iam not discrediting his talent (he does have some I admit), but his "stunts" are just dumb.

Your hyping him way too much.

I totally agree, I love how he used the autotune on 808s & Heartbreak. I also love how Kanye isn't afraid to explore with sounds and artists outside of his genre.

I am going to go out on a limb and say he is pushing the sonic envelope of commercial hip hop in really exciting directions.

I will listen to a bad Kanye album over a good 50/Game album any day of the week
