Returning to the world tour circuit for the first time in about three years, Shakira has announced plans to launch her 2010 venture in North America this fall.

Only three U.S. tour dates have been announced by the Colombian singer-songwriter-dancer.

As it stands now, her calendar opens with a September 21 concert at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. Subsequent tour stops include an October 8 gig at Toyota Center in Houston, TX, and an October 23 event at Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Public onsales for the three confirmed dates begin May 7. As a matter of affordability, a limited number of tickets in each market will be available for $9.50, not including applicable fees and surcharges.

Besides these heavily discounted ducats, regular ticket face values will range from $44 to $154 in New York City and run up to $149.50 in Los Angeles , according to event listings on Ticketmaster.com.

Additional summer and fall tour dates will be added to the North American itinerary, but the ultimate length of Shakira's planned stateside excursion has not been announced. Details are available on Shakira's official Web site.

During her 2006-2007 Oral Fixation Tour, the internationally popular artist visited more than 20 markets across the United States and Canada, and completed two legs totaling more than 20 concerts across Mexico.

The upcoming tour is Shakira's first major outing since signing a 360-degree deal with Live Nation in 2008. Though little was confirmed about the deal at the time, The New York Post estimated that the all-encompassing contract was worth about $70 million.

The "Hips Don't Lie" hitmaker is on the road supporting her third English-language album and sixth studio effort overall, the November 2009 release "She Wolf." Compared to her three previous records, the album had a disappointing showing on the charts, peaking at No. 15 on the Billboard 200.
