Very similar to the death of Freddie Mercury in that, the day before his death a "statement" came out about him suffering from AIDS and admitting to the speculation of everyone, however YEARS later it was found that Freddie Never made any such statement nor wanted it known about his illness through a written admission like the one given.

DJ Premier Releases Statement On The Death of Guru

In a statement issued Wednesday (April 21) on a DJ Premier fan blog that his manager had earlier told MTV News is legitimate, the Gang Starr DJ chose not to address the comments in the letter and instead remember his longtime collaborator:



"IT WAS A SAD DAY FOR ME TO GET CONFIRMATION ON THE DEATH OF A MAN WHO I WILL CONTINUE TO CALL MY BROTHER, KEITH ELAM, BETTER KNOWN AS GURU OF THE LEGENDARY GANG STARR.

FROM 1988-2004, WE EXPERIENCED SO MUCH SUCCESS TOGETHER THAT WE WERE ABLE TO EXPAND OUR BUSINESSES INDEPENDENTLY AND GIVE EACH OTHER WHAT GURU CALLED “CREATIVE SPACE”, BEFORE PLANNING TO REUNITE FOR OUR 7TH LP WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT. TRAGICALLY, WE WILL NEVER REACH THAT DAY.

I’VE BEEN ASKED TO COMMENT ON A LETTER SPEAKING ILL OF ME WHICH WAS SUPPOSEDLY WRITTEN BY GURU IN HIS DYING DAYS. ALL I WILL SAY ABOUT IT IS THAT OUR TIME TOGETHER WAS BEAUTIFUL, WE BUILT A HIP HOP LEGACY TOGETHER, AND NO ONE CAN RE-WRITE HISTORY OR TAKE AWAY MY LOVE FOR HIM. ONE THING I WOULD NEVER DO IS PLAY AROUND WITH THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS LIFE.

I WILL CELEBRATE GURU’S LIFE… I WILL HONOR HIS MEMORY… I WILL GRIEVE WITH THE ELAM FAMILY OVER HIS UNTIMELY DEATH… I WILL REMEMBER THE GANG STARR FOUNDATION AND ALL OF THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF GANG STARR WHO CAME BEFORE ME – WE ALL KNOW EACH OTHER… MOSTLY, I WILL CHERISH EVERYTHING WE CREATED TOGETHER AS GANG STARR, FOREVER. Video: MTV News’ Sway Interviews Solar

Sway sat down with Solar and asked him about the nature of his relationship with Guru, and if he ever physically abused him.

After the jump, Sway questions the legitimacy of the letter. He brings up the family’s statement and they discuss the charity organization as well as Guru’s relationship with his family. Then he’s asked about Guru’s last days and finally, how they found out he was sick and why his family wasn’t informed.

Almost but not quite. Solar has a WIFE. He and that stank bitch misrepresented themselves as Guru's brother and sister in order to get the Health Proxy that barred his REAL family from the seeing him. Unless he'd convinced Guru to give him his Power of Attorney, which I don't think he had or they wouldn't have had to misrepresent who they were, their stupid asses are going to end up in jail. Since Solar right about now is the most HATED person in the Hip Hop community, solitary confinement might not be such a bad place to hide out.

I don't think they were lovers. Solar is just a lying, conniving ass snake who probably put that partner shit in there the way that he did on purpose so that people would think they were lovers and Guru's family was just trippin' out on him because of it. In the MTV videos, he says there were no problems between Guru and his family with the exception being his sister Trish. So why they hell wouldn't he allow anyone else to see Guru?

When Justin (Guru's nephew) finally got to see him, Solar tried to convince him that he was so heavily sedated that it made him just look like he was still in a coma.

There's something wrong about that man and it just fucked his plans up that damn near not a soul believed that bullshitting ass letter!

LOTS of people are estranged from friends and family and do not hesitate to say so when death is knocking to make it clear that they are still mad at them. And it is also quite common for family members to come out of the woodwork after a famous/wealthy person dies acting as if everything was cool knowing full well they weren't close for years. There is nothing new or unique about any of this but I'll let ya'll carry on.

No, I didn't know Guru personally as you say you did so I don't know about him other than what I learned of him through his music but I do know when something just doesn't seem right to me and something just doesn't seem right to me about Solar and since this is a discussion board, we're discussing it.

If that offends you, perhaps you should leave this particular thread alone because you may be too emotionally involved to handle it.
