Oh Finess, you picked a winner this time smile

Boz Scaggs is one of my favorite singers. And the 'Silk Degrees' album (1976) is his masterpiece. It gets played ALOT in my house."Lowdown" is THE definitive song of '76,imo.Other tracks like "It's Over" and the cool R&B of "What Can I Say" are impressive,as well. And who could forget the catchy "Lido Shuffle"? I have several albums by Scaggs, but this album is his most consistent and the songs flow very well together.

Btw,in 2001,Boz Scaggs released a new CD called 'Dig' and it is easily his best work since 'Silk Degrees'.

Wow, I remember this one. I haven't heard it in 15 years. I just might have to visit my used cd store and pick it up. It was a great album.

Great album pick Finess. I remember the album cover with Boz sitting on a bench and some lady's hand is reaching toward him.

"Lowdown" is one of the best songs of the 70's. R&B radio stations played this song as much as top40/pop stations played it, a fine example of funk/rock/R&B fused together for great music. The whole album is great though,..what can I say. Been a while since I listened to this one.

He said in one of His Interviews that the Groove for that song was insired from a Groove from Earth,Wind&fire's 'Spirit" Album that came out in 1976.I think the song "On your Face" inspired His groove for "Low down".

now this is the kind of Album that Justin Timberlake wishes He had have made.very laid-Back&cool Vibe without being Heavy.Cali Cool.many Acts try too be Cool but Boz Scaggs got it right with this Album.Polished but yet Cool too still be reachable.too quote DavidEye: a Little Trivia"Low Down" originally was slated too be in the film "Saturday Night Fever"&Possibly on the Soundtrack but it didn't make the cut in the end.
