How has she hurt her career? JD gave her 2 of her biggest hits of her career, "We Belong Together" and "Always Be My Baby". **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Remember that Mariah's EOM did well only because she took her time to do a good cd. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Hmm, i'm not sure what i think about them working together again. While I have enjoyed the majority of their collaberations, I was hoping for something fresh from mariah, not a step backwards.
Despite Memoirs lacklustre success, it, alongside Glitter, are my favourite Mariah album's of the last decade. As much as i wish success for Mariah, i'd really love to see her not care about having 'hit singles' and do a stripped down album with very little production and a live band. Ala subtle invitation.

I can see u liking Glitter, but Memoirs? That album sounds like an inexperienced producer did it. It sounds sooooo cheap and empty to me. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Hell, they could've built a WHOLE state on that man's forehead and he still could defy gravity sit up straight, girl. As for working with JD I know they're friends and all but,,,,,does this thick headed bitch ever learn? Yes, what is she thinking he only gave her the airplay hit of the decade. What a dumb bish that Mariah is. I really hate people that want Mariah to go all artistic and morph into the biracial Kate Bush. It's not going to ever happen. Then you get frustrated and annoyed with her like it should happen. Mariah experimented once already with a little album called Glitter, and got her hand slapped hard. Mariah's albums are artistically hailed on the basis of what they sell. She knows that so that's what she chases after. And, I can't say I blame her. As opposed to be generic and cater to the piss stain on their draws and no attention span crowd, huh? Couple of points.. 1. Nobody said Mimi should get all artistic. Just work with somebody who could showcase the gift that she ALREADY has instead of throwing at her cutsie tutsie "flavor of the month" fluff that make the FFT broads drool in the mouth. 2. Glitter is an "experiment"? WTF, this is news to me. And from my end, I loved it 3. Sad but true, Mimi does worship the charts, but for somebody with her talent, she's selling herself short for the sake of pleasing the young folks as opposed to BE HERSELF. 20+ years in the business, who gives a fuck what the A&R man likes, she has influence, she should use it to push envelopes musically(and no, nobody expects her to be Kate Bush ) hell, don't even push nothing,,,just make me FEEL what you're singing, but as much as I love her, I'm afraid she turned plastic just like the rest of them,,,,while we're at it, throw in Mary J Blige and Whitney Houston too. Thank god for Erykah Badu.

Mariah has been deliberatley trying to cater to kids for the past 10 years it seems like and she genuinley has passed on her original fan base in my opinion. Just because she worked with Jermaine Dupri and tried had a hit or two does not mean that they always created magic. All the horrid him and Bryan Cox made all over Chambracelet, E=MC2... The One You Had Your Chance Cruise Control Love Story Last Kiss I Stay In Love Those lame ass rank stank songs that did othing but put her in the same lame r&b category with Monica, Brandy Toni Braxton and the like...the slow jams used to have soul and feeling. I just dont FEEL her when she works with him. It seems like they try to hard to "make a hit" just like what he did with Janet. Getting all big headed off of ONE hit from 1995 and the other from 2005..seriosuly. They go together like a drug and the junkie..that one hit aint ever going to be as good as the first and they keep trying. Bitch give it up aleady got damn. All the things she can do vocally, all the good music I can just imagine she can do..the hot uptempo cuts others are doing with better productions and producers and she wants to sit her blackass in the "safe zone". To hell with her, im through. [Edited 4/12/10 20:13pm] Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Speak for yourself. I didn't get any of the albums after Mimi and I barely listened to THAT one. I didn't like it. I can't remember what any Mariah track post-2005 sounds like.

To hell with her, im through. [Edited 4/12/10 20:13pm] Believe me, I'm not behind on anything MC and JD have done. I'm not disagreeing with u either on how lame the songs are. I think that MC and JD are concentrating on trying to stay "current" and "relevant" than just making good music. I just think it would be a smarter move for MC to go back to her roots of making a real pop song and pop album. I think if she did that, she would re-establish her career and sell a decent amount of albums. MC, for some reason, has always thought her core audience was an r&b audience. I don't know where she got that from. She has had r&b hits for sure, but she is a pop artist. Until she realizes this, we'll keep getting the latest crap we've been getting. With all of that said, I don't think any of that necessarily hurt her career. Mariah's star has faded like most 40+ year olds that have been in the business for 20 years. People have moved on to GaGa and others. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
