Regardless of how inaccurate this interview is - and you've noticed Teddy has not spoke out against it - Teddy Riley is not excused for his behavior. Being cocky and in a group never works. Teddy never learned his lesson from Guy so whatever lol

The main difference is the fact that Aaron & Damian Hall of Guy are so tall & physically strong that they (especially Aaron) would've thrown little Teddy in the damn dumpster for talking all of that crap behind their backs. The Halls are straight up thugs like that! lol

Yeah I doubt Teddy talked to them directly because he KNEW better. One bad word towards any of them would result in them whupping his tiny ass. lol

Many celebs get misquoted all the time. They choose to let it go sometimes because you can't stop the rumor mill. People believe what they want to believe. I already stated that I don't know much about Guy, so I didn't make any comments. I made comments about Blacksteet because it's ridiculous. If you would read my messages, you would understand that, so why are you commenting on Guy and I never mentioned them? I still haven't changed my mind. The story about Blackstreet is still stupid for the reasons that I previously stated.

No I was mentioning Guy. lol Nothing about what you said. lol

That's all. You just have a different opinion than we do. So I can respect it. No beef. smile

I think it's sad what happened to Blackstreet, they had the potential to be, what they said in one of their interludes in Another Level, a legendary group like the Temptations and the Four Tops, but instead they're a "should've been". Their success lasted a good three years and that was it.

I've only heard of 2 of Dave's albums. Where did the other 4 come from? That's even more proof that some of the other group members are acting out because of jealousy. What a shame. Because of this info, I still don't believe the article is accurate.

Yeah Dave Hollister crept up on folks with these albums:

6 full albums & 2 greatest hits.

1999: Ghetto Hymns (DreamWorks)
2000: Chicago '85...The Movie (DreamWorks)
2002: Things in the Game Done Changed (Motown)
2003: Real Talk (DreamWorks)
2006: The Book of David: Vol.1 The Transition (Gospo Centric)
2006: The Definitive Collection (Hip-O)
2008: 20th Century Masters (The Millennium Collection) (Universal Music Group)
2008: Witness Protection (album) (Zomba Gospel)

Hollister, cousin of music act K-Ci & JoJo and Fantasia Barrino, started developing fame as a musician in the early 1990s. Some of his biggest early appearances were with 2Pac on tracks like "Brenda's Got A Baby" and "Keep Ya Head Up" where he was credited on both as "The Black Angel" as well as the original version of "Don't You Trust Me." The remake of which was released on Loyal to the Game.

His next big move was when he was signed to Teddy Riley's R&B group BLACKstreet in 1994. He worked with the group on their first album and then left the group to pursue his own solo career. He was signed to DreamWorks Records and began working on an album.

In 1999, Hollister released his first album, Ghetto Hymns. The album was successful, going gold, and creating one hit single, "My Favorite Girl". "My Favorite Girl" reached #10 on the R&B charts.

Hollister's follow-up album, Chicago '85... The Movie was released in 2000. The album was an autobiographical work and went gold. "One Woman Man" the album's biggest single, reached #8 on the R&B charts. Also in 2000, Dave Hollister collaborated on "He Say, She Say" with Keith Sweat and T-Boz of TLC (written and produced by Andrew Lane).

For his third effort, Hollister moved to Motown Records. He hoped the new label would instill new energy into his music. The album, Things In the Game Done Changed was released in 2002 and fared poorly on the charts and radio.

As a result of the album's shortcomings, Hollister returned to DreamWorks where he released Real Talk in 2003. Following the album's release, Hollister moved to Gospo Centric.

Hollister is reportedly wrapping up his fifth album in the industry, The Book of David: Vol. 1 The Transition. The album will be coming out on September 26, 2006 from Gospo Centric.

He currently serves as Assistant Minister of Music for New Direction Christian Church satellite location in Collierville, Tennessee. (www.n2newdirection.org). Dave has also reunited with his former group Blackstreet and will be performing with them on their upcoming reunion tour along with Guy Blackstreet's founder Teddy Riley's other group. In addition to Riley Blackstreet members Chauncey Hannibal, Mark Middleton, and Eric Williams will be a part of the reunion. Guy members in addition to Riley will include brothers Aaron Hall and Damion Hall. Teddy Riley has decided to only focus on Blackstreet and Mark Middleton and Eric Williams are no longer a part of the reunion because Teddy refused to keep them. Blackstreet now consists of original members Teddy Riley, Chauncey Hannibal, Dave Hollister, and new members Kermit Quinn who is also a member of the R&B Group Intro and Sherman "J-Stylz" Tisdale.

For what it's worth, I saw Blackstreet playing in London last Friday at the indigO2. The venue was packed and I couldn't fault the performance. They were on stage for 2 and a half hours and the new members can SANG! I wouldn't say that they're past it or washed up at all.

With Teddy Riley as their "leader",they didn't stand a chance lol He always has conflicts with his bandmates.Guy should have lasted longer than they did.

Boring 90s R&B slow jams bored and one of them is based on a sample?!

I agree with Tony....Guy had more UPTEMPO jams! Most of their singles are funky and uptempo.

Jermaine88

Everyone I made a new post about a annoucement Dave Hollister told me on twitter follow me @JermaineHarding or Dave @Dave_Hollister he told me Blackstreet will be taping a episode for The Monique Show May 6th it will be him, Teddy Riley, Chauncey Black, & new member J-Stylz and that article is true what Teddy said but Mark & Eric are not really gay he just said so cause he's pissed they left and formed a side group passing themselves off as Blackstreet don't get me wrong they are great singers but Teddy told me they were making money with him and he treated them like brothers and all the stuff in the past was the past and that the lineup of Teddy Riley, CHauncey Black, Dave Hollister,

Mark Middleton, & Eric Williams should have went full steam this appearance on Monique was scheduled when they were still there then after one show as a quintet in Atlanta after Dave returned they started performing with another guy named J-Remy and said Teddy & Chauncey felt they were Blackstreet and Dave was. Eric was gonna have a reduced role but Dave said Mark & Eric respected he was back but it was stuff with Teddy & Chauncey that should not have happened.

Dave said he had past issues with Teddy & Chauncey but it's worked out and he's back. J-Stylz covers for Mark Middleton & Dave Hollister has his spot back that Eric Williams took on the second album Mark took Levi's spot. Speaking of Levi he told me on facebook it was about money too which is why he's not in the reunion. He was fired in 1995 but he decided to not try to rejoin Blackstreet cause Teddy, Chauncey, & Dave was gonna make more money than him. Dave is doin solo shows too and doin stage plays so of course he gonna make money,. Levi is working on a new solo album called The Restoration and doing stage plays he said if Teddy stop playing with the money it will be him, Teddy, Chauncey, & Dave he said maybe if that happens Mark, Eric, & Joe Stonestreet who Dave replaced on their first album will rejoin and do a big Temptations like Reunion when most of the members came back If that happens they may have 7 or 8 members doin a reunion if they get paid but as of now you will get Teddy, Chauncey, Dave, & J-Stylz K. Quinn was a fillin just in case Dave didn't have his passport situation right I know this is a lot but I am tellin you the whole deal with Blackstreet and money issues is the root of the problem with Levi Little, Mark Middleton, & Eric Williams. Joe Stonestreet said he wanted to go back too but I don't know what's holdin him back he's doin gospel now but Teddy said he was let go cause he was smoking weed cause he said he & Chauncey never did drugs.

Dave admitted to drinking and smoking so he was probably let go. Levi wasn't respected by Teddy at all. Mark took prescription drugs for a leg injury. Eric has sickle cell and took somethin to control it so he's good so Teddy probably don't want no drugs. Dave doesn't drink and smoke anymore and lost some weight so he's back. He's still husky but a little weight came off him.
