The System - Sweat (LP) This album is classic
The music flows with the fluidity of a waterfall (minus the last song). It was aimed towards the pop charts of the time period it but still contains some funky bassline grooves. Bright synthesizer sounds along with driving drum beats provided by the DMX hold everything together nicely. i would rate this album a solid 8/10. "I won't let go" is decent but it fails to stand out on its own. "Now I Am Electric" is just terrible in the sense that it doesnt seem to match the overall vibe presented on the album. You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

Like this album but still think that "The Pleasure Seekers" was their best album. Never get tired of listening to it.

Love these guys.....always did. Imma vote 4 their last album as best, tho..."ESP" I thought was their most cohesive.
Interesting side note..... We have the funk band "Kleeer" to thank for these 2. They initially met while keyboard techs on the road with the band. Funk Is It's Own Reward

I think it's good how 4 different people in this thread all have a different favorite "System" album. My favorite is "Rhythm & Romance" - I could listen to that album every day, every song on there is classic IMO. |

With that being said, I tend to drift towards X-periment as my favorite. "I Wanna Make You Feel Good" is one of my favorites. I really like all or most of their albums. They had a great sound (thanks to David Frank). Not as fond of their last effort -- ESP. It was too slow. Didn't sound near as unique as their early stuff. Mic Murphy's latest from '09 with Melle Mel (Electro Soul Satisfaction) was much more in line with the early material.

it's a damn shame that these guys don't have a 'Best Of' CD by now

I listen to that track almost everyday. I was hoping that was the beginning of a new album or something. Any news on that??

The Sweat LP is my favorite by The System. The first track Sweat is a great opening track, followed by their best tune IMO 'You're In My System'. 'I Won't Let Go'& 'Go For What You Know' are track that I dig, but get little fanfare. Only track I don't care for is "Now I Am Electric". ((((Go For What You Know))))

"Stand up and cheer" is another track i really like.
Its a shame that i cant really get into the other stuff they released. It lacks the raw energy of the first lp . You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

I gave it away. I would imagine their debut album had to be much better. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Yeah that one of their weakest albums to me LOL. I love "Modern girl" though. Production is hot!
