Scores & Soundtracks

Hi folks,

Well, I recently been reorganizing my Digital Music and ripping some of my scores and soundtracks!

What I wanna know is; Do YOU have a fav. all time Soundtrack or Score that you just can't get enough of...

My favorites;

Micheal Kamen - Robin Hood Prince of Thieves
- Overture And A Prisoner Of The Crusades (makes me SMILE biggrin)

Bill Conti - Rocky
- Some songs are very Uplifting, and Just makes u wanna train! And some songs are very sad neutral

Vangelis - Blade Runner
- Just awesome!

And Highlander - The OST Scores

Although only the MICHAEL KAMEN tracks, from the first movie... Can't figure out why the hell there's no Stand Alone Soundtrack from THAT movie! You would think there is one, especially now that the man is been gone a couple of years
neutral such a great soundtrack!

There are lots and lost more...

Now it's your turn biggrin

Yes, massive shame there is no "highlander" OST. Even the Queen songs are slightly re-arranged/remixed for the movie, so even if they were released it would of been something.

I love the main theme to "rocketeer" at the moment. Been playing it alot.

Big fan of James Horner. Very whimsical at times, but I like that lol And the "rocketeer" piece does remind me of his "land before time" OST, which is even better and more beautiful in places.

Kids OST's can be good too!

Oh yeah, I got that off a Disney comp. Great song. Iam a big Phil Collins fan though LOL.

As for James Horner, a "cocoon" OST CD reissue would be nice mad I don't have "braveheart". I'll keep an eye for it though.

I love "blade runner" too bytheway. I did a Vangelis thread a while ago. No replies LOL lol

Love John Barry and Hans Zimmer aswell. Lots of stuff I could post by them. Such a shame Zimmer's "days of thunder" score (with great guitar by Jeff Beck), still has not been released. Great songs on the OST though....

Some soundtracks are just so underrated and some just need a decent issue!
And If there is one... you need to track it down!

Anyway, do you think JEFF WAYNE's - WAR OF THE WORLDS counts? Cuz that's also a great piece of work!

The theme by Danny Elfman to the first Keaton Batman movie is awesome. So is the song, "Waltz To The Death", and "The Joker's Poem".

Themes to the Pee Wee Herman movies are great too.

I listened to his Einstein on the Beach (wasn't that Glass?) several times, and that is one tripped-out, mind-numbing piece!

the breakfast machine has to be one of the most iconic pieces of score from the 80s and beyond.

Not really a "soundtrack" person, but on the instrumental "scores" side of things, I enjoy the work of the classic orchestral film composers.

Being a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock films, tension-meister Bernard Herrmann is one of my favorites.

...Psycho

...Vertigo

...North By Northwest

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

...A medley of other Bernard Herrmann scores
(Cape Fear, Obsession, Twisted Nerve, The Wrong Man, On Dangerous Ground, Farenheit 451, The Night Digger, The Kentuckian, Sisters, Battle of Neretva, Mysterious Island, Jane Eyre, The Man Who Knew Too Much)

...The Day The Earth Stood Still

He also did scores for a few Ray Harryhausen stop-animation films (Jason and the Argonauts, Mysterious Island[i/], [i]The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad)

And a theme for the TV series...

...Have Gun - Will Travel

Documentary...
