Alexander O Neal @ The Qwest in MPLS was at the Alexander O Neal show yesterday night, and it was pretty cool.
He had a live band, and per4med the following numbers: Innocent (i 4got this next one) Sunshine All True Man U Were Meant 2 Be My Lady (Not My Girl) What Can I Say (2 Make U Love Me) If u were here 2nite Fake He looked alot different. I probably wouldnt recognize him if i saw him on the street. His voice was very good, he was all over the stage. He smoked cigarettes, sung his ass off, sweated, cursed, danced with girls on stage, he was all over. It wasnt the best concert i ever been 2 or anything, but he did make it worth the $15 1.hr. show, and i was very happy 2 c him. I even caught his towel he threw in the audience. He was singin those songs better than knowing he ownded them, although he started off a little shaky in the beginning, so were the backgroung singers, but by the time he got 2 Sunshine, it was cool. HANDCLAPS: Ur so funny. I think some1 was trying 2 get that towel from me while i was walking out. But i held on 2 it tight. Yes he did mention Cherelle in the song "U Were Meant 2B My Lady". He asked the audience, "Which one of u girls want 2 come up here and be Cherelle 2nite?" He also mentioned Brothers Johnsons' Lewis Johnson who was also there, whom he kept telling the audience was his favorite and kept saying that he loved him and stuff. I dont know that much about Brithers Johnson. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Hearsay will be re-released soon. I forgot the exact date but it is real soon. Also, there will be a Cherelle cd re-released on the same day.
Cherelle also mentioned Alexander in the same way in Chicago when she opened for New Edition. A man went on stage and sang with her on Saturday Love. She looked better than I remember her looking in the 80s. [This message was edited Mon Jan 20 10:50:01 PST 2003 by jbchavez]

I saw him last year, longer show than yours but no "Sunshine". The band and backing vocalists were just adequate but was a lot of fun.
Weren't Tony Rich and Brown Mark doing a show in Minnesota January 19th too?

He performed before Prince at the Mill City Music Festival in 1999 and the girls that he had dancing for him were hilarious. Let's just day their bodies were a little too large for the spandex that he chose for them
I remember being pleasantly surprised and thinking it was a good show. BTW PaisleyPark4 I don't think catching a sweaty towel is a good thing. Would you like my towel after I wipe my sweat when I play ball? . [This message was edited Mon Jan 20 13:30:58 PST 2003 by lovemachine]

Would you like my towel after I wipe my sweat when I play ball? well, its the 3rd closest thing from a celebrity...I have Michael Blands autograph, Pharell's fingerprints on a couple of stickers they threw out. And last is Alex O Neal's towel. Now last, I wouldnt mind having a sweaty towel from a fine cute guy, hell that would probably turn me on. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
