I think even if you had put it at number 1, it wouldn't have cracked the top 5. There's a big gap!

I think I have all five:

1. The Gold Experience
2. OK Computer
3. Achtung Baby
4. Nevermind
5. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

I'm sure Prince will be #1. I think (and hope) Radiohead takes the #2 spot. It could go either way with U2 and Nirvana. I think Lauryn is almost surely fifth.

I think you're probably right. I remembered U2 right after I posted this. That's a pretty solid Top 5.

excited excited

buuuut, for me, George's album is Top20 material, not a top10 confused , and it's sad how none of Björk's classics has made the top5 or even the top10 confused

anyway, I'm glad for Violator and Ray of Light cool God I love those albums...

well it's a prince fansite at the end of the day but i was very surprised
to see the prince album at number 6. damn. i don't think that even made my
top 100.

there are way better albums than some of the ones in the top 20 or 30. but
this is a poll with poll results. not my own favorit list, i got to submit
that one already, lol.

so it's interesting to see what comes out where once all the votes have
been counted and the list is compiled. if anything it's making me feel like
i should give some of those albums another spin since they ended so high
on the list and i haven't listened to them in ages.

top 3

01. gold experience
02. ok computer
03. achtung baby

that's what it's gonna look like, i think. like i said, it's a prince site
so the gold experience is bound to end up very high.

and i'll be very glad to see those other 2 being number 2 and 3 since they
are indeed 2 of the very best albums of the 1990s. both unique albums, in
the general field and in the bands catalogue.

Some of the albums on this list surely have that quality that makes them ageless. Sure, part of a definite era, but still very much ageless... This is one of those...

Once again, Prince comes out on top! The album list wasn't as dominated by Prince as the 00s list was, and that is perhaps due to there being a greater consensus about which 90s albums are classics.

Again, thank you all for participating in this invigorating poll! I hope the 80s poll can prove to be as satisfying and stimulating!

Hehehehehe, just as we said it: Lauryn, Nirvana, U2, Radiohead, Prince...

pretty solid top5, but for me, Achtung Baby is waaaaay better than OK Computer...

and The Gold Experience is a great album, but then again, in a non-Prince site and/or a music site not dominated by males, I'm sure that the final top5 would be like this:

1. Radiohead - OK Computer
2. U2 - Achtung Baby
3. Lauryn Hill - Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
4. Madonna - Ray of Light
5. Nirvana - Nevermind

and yeah, like Moonbeam I wish to thank you all for this poll; it has been great biggrin

LOL, Among all those great albums posted above, nowhere else on the world-wide-web will or anyplace else will anyone find Prince at the top spot of 90's albums. Fandom lol
I love Prince but the 90's was not his time and "The Gold Experience" is a dated cheesy album better served as a topping for nachos.

The most overlooked on the list for me is Lucinda Williams' "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road." Such an awesome, landmark album... more Org'ers need to hear it, dammit razz

But overall I thought it was an excellent list - lots of very knowledgeable music fans here. I think the Prince albums are too high, but - it's a Prince site, lol.

More that a little surprised to see this at 19. Shit, I wouldn't have thought this'd make the top 250 on this board. Too high up in my estimation.

And Lauryn Hill eek It's telling that only two key tracks are put down, cos the rest is standard, the album suffers from the same skittish chatter that made the Fugees' hard to like.

Dangerous is probably the only MJ album I haven't heard, Heal The World???.....c'mon now!

Good to see Achtung Baby there.
