RUDE BOY is Rihanna's 6th #1 in USA

Rude Boy by Rihanna jumps into the #1 spot, the 22-year old star’s 5th #1 solo single (and overall 6th #1 career single) in less than four years.

SUCK IT, CHRIS BROWN.

I must admit at first I didn't get Rihannas hype, but I jumped in the wagon confused
Congratulations!!
As a 'pop icon', though her voice get on my nerves sometimes, I still like her better than, say, Madonna.. cool

YES..I should be a record exec because as soon as i heard it I knew that this SHOULD have been the FIRST single. They fucked up trying to release all that bullshit earlier..this is the Spring / Summer song of the year. it has that 90's pop / r&b feel to it and the video is great. I told you guys from the get go.

I didn't like the first two singles Rihanna released from her latest album, but I have to admit that this song is pretty good. I was beginning to wonder whether Rihanna had peaked in popularity already, but it was just the poor choice of releasing two underwhelming singles.

I finally listened to her latest CD yesterday!

I don't really care for it. I thought her debut was stronger. This one sounded almost quickly thrown together and a bit overproduced.
The first 3 tracks were so weak, I was stunned they were included on the album at all. The first track being little more than a repetitious chant, really.

Maybe I just need to hear it a couple of times, but so far, not impressed.

Impressive. I'm sure most people thought Rihanna was going to be a one hit wonder when she came out with "Pon De Replay" but she's done very well and lasted longer than most were expecting.

I love "Rude Boy" btw, both the video and song.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

Like the video still (probably best music video I have seen in quite some time), grown tired of the song though. Here in the UK it will start dropping next week.

Apparently she has now more #1s in the US than any other female singer except Mariah, Madonna, Whitney, Janet, Diana (including the 2 #1s credited to Diana Ross & The Supremes). Impressive. Then again she is tied with Paula Abdul whose career basically stopped after the 6th #1.

YAY RI RI! woot! I hope she releases that new album soon. Something is telling me that since 'Rude Boy' has found success, Def Jam might try to squeeze more singles out of Rated R. I hope not.

Yeah 4 from her debut album and 2 from the follow-up... she never had a UK #1 though (Rihanna has 3)

Definitely try Photographs, Cold Case Love and Rockstar. Te Amo is good and pretty popular too but not for everyone.

The beautiful Te Amo is the next single. They are shooting the video in Paris shortly.

This song is brilliant, although the art direction in the video is a direct rip-off of Solange's "I Decided".
