BLACK EYED PEAS SHOW So the first time I ever remember seeing the Black Eyed Peas was when I was watching the movie GARFIELD with my little daughter in 2004.....she was 2 years old.
I didn't realize who the PEAS were at that time but laughed as Garfield chilled in his living room watching a music video.....suddenly he began shaking his booty to HEY MAMA. I loved it! Last night I took my now 7 year-old to her first music concert. Guess who? The show was amazing on so many levels: a multi-sensory experience of sight, sound and kinesthetic stimulation fueled by technology integration that I can't begin to explain.....WOW! The costumes were phenomenal: space-aged, futuristic, sparkly ensembles that not only caught your eye but sustained your attention no matter who was wearing....lots of silver, black and red with splashes of color here and there depending on the song. The stage was definitely viewer friendly from all angles (except from directly behind,) and allowed the PEAS to move easily in and out of the center of the room. The best parts, of course, were when they moved closer to engage the crowd....I heard there were approx 12 thousand in attendance. From what I can remember, BEP's performed every song on the THE END album except: Alive, Ring-A-Ling, Electric City and One Tribe. Apl, Taboo and Fergie each had their own "spotlight" as well that included props galore and songs from the past...yay! Every song seemed to be better than the previous one. I was beyond entertained and blown away at Will I Am's ability to turn the entire RBC Center into a simulated dance club as he was spinning funk and rock and roll tunes from MJ and others (all from the middle of the room on an elevated DJ platform stand)!!! CRAZY FUN!!! As for my little one.....she LOVED the show, but faded fast as the night got longer...to be expected when she normally goes to bed at 8. Her mother, on the other hand, only wished she could have attended the after party at TANTRA...would have LOVED to meet the Peas while they were in Raleigh NC. So if you have a chance to see BEP while on tour, do it. You will not be disappointed.

It's no use BlondiezHere2. I know you meant well. But prince.org has a high percentage of orgers that dislike/hates Fergie too much to even give a damn about BEP these days.
Sad but true. | |

Dude you had a better chance of posting this at Soulful-Detroit than here. The ORG hates Fergie.

Why do people on here hate Fergie?

OK, maybe not hate but some can't stand her voice and they've never forgave her for the peeing incident and some think she sounds like a cat when she sings lol

Part of the problem (at least in the org) is that some orgers were fans of the BEP when it was only the 3 men in the group specializing in alternative rap (THINK: the west coast version of A Tribe Called Quest) plus neo-soul singer Kim Hill who was hired help to sing hooks on BEP's first 2 albums. But after Kim Hill departed from BEP (mostly because she wasn't feeling the potential new musical direction of the group) BEP group leader will.i.am hired Fergie to take over Kim's role for only one album. But after hearing the tracks of what was going to be BEP's 3rd album (Elephunk), Interscope Records CEO Jimmy Iovine successful convince will.i.am in having Fergie as the new full-time member of the group. The rest is money making history. But at what cost? Some of the fans of BEP's first 2 albums accuse the rap group for selling out their underground/alternative hip-hop roots. While other had single out Fergie as an overrated entertainer.

They can tell you exactly why they dislike Fergie better than any one else in the org. It just as outrageous as Vainandy's reasons for disliking Whitney, trust me!

Meet Me Halfway has to be their best song ever within the BEP Fergie-era.

I'm glad this person enjoyed the show, but I'm one of the folks who can't stand this group. They are nothing but a novelty act IMHO. I cringe when I hear their music. It's bloody awful.

Meet Me Halfway has to be their best song ever within the BEP Fergie-era. It would be better without Fergie. I absolutely HATE the way she pronounces words..."Meet me hav wwwwwhhhhhyyyy" [Edited 2/22/10 8:40am]
