With 23 hit singles, Grammys on his mantle, now rapper AKON will add "cosmetic mogul" to his name. He's launched a new fragrance line, Konvict for men and women.


Named after his recent top-selling album Konvict, the fragrance is produced in partnership with the singer's newly formed company, Konvict Cosmetics, International, LLC.


Considering AKON's popularity, Jack Aini, Managing Director states, "We are excited and honored to launch Konvict with AKON which we project strong sales in this celebrity fragrance market.”

The brand is one of the new Celebrity-backed fragrance lines in the hip hop world with AKON's signature "Break Free Live The Dream". His message to encourage young adults to break free from all things that are tying their hands and keeping them back from living their dreams and experience the "Freedom" which surrounds them.

AKON will donate 10% of all its proceeds going to the Konfidence Foundation - founded to bring public awareness of the conditions in Africa and providing underprivileged African youth with access to learning, recreational environments and wellness services.

Available now at, www.akonfragrances.com, and talks have begun with retailers for distribution.

The Konvict fragrance will be available for a limited time only for $41.95 in it's unique two bottle designer box for a total of 3.4 oz's., this offer will be for all online sales only through the month of April 2010, regularly sold at retail for $49.95.

It's the handcuffs on the box that get me. It reminds me of the fake ones on The Kevin Bishop Show

Late in the evening mess, lawd.

Why stop there? Why not start a whole line of Konvict Cosmetics with a different fragrance for each convict? A fragrance for thieves, a different fragrance for murderers, a different frangrance for child molestors, a different fragrance for rapists.... Hell, just keep influencing folks to be criminals as many ways as possible.

I know people wont realize this but, this is where the money is though, its sure as hell not in the music, he will have a clothing line soon too you can bet on that. I mean take Diddy's words for real (scary to say), but him saying having a number one album and two platnum albums "lost" him money

Honestly i dont know why any "male" artist would put out a scent period, whether its diddy or akon or Prince its just like throwing money down the drain, clothing lines are one thing, but the perfume and scent's lines, leave that to Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian
