Just enjoy the video. It's supposed to be stupid and campy biggrin

Gaga is DOIN IT BIG! Beyonce plays it too safe, sorry. Its nice to see someone do things that some ppl may be offended by. Political correctness is so 2008.

My only criticism is that it wasn't seamless. It was a bit choppy and all over the place. When she started singing, it was so awkward and didn't blend in with what was goin down. As thouh the substance couldn't support the style.

Gaga looked good too, she looked like Madonna in some scenes. sexy

i know, she's in jail and she's singing "i'm in the club, kinda bussy"

lol

I was like... ehat kinda prison is she in?!

the first several minutes of this are soooo madonna. if you put true blue, who's that girl, and madonna early 90s into a blender, this is what you'd get.

the moves, the look, the hair, even the prison thing

Oh, yeah- Gaga is definitely very Madonna. She even looks like her in the video.

But all the others- Britney, Pink, Ciara, Beyonce- are all more like Janet than like Madonna.

Xactly! Mads gets the credit but Janet is the true inspiration.

Exactly. Her look in the part where she starts to sing and dance outside the cells reminds me of this for some reason:

Exactly, and it's just funny how blatantly obvious they make the sponsors show up by focusing on them for like 4 seconds.

Some of the faces Beyoncé pulls are hilarious!!! Who knew she could be so funny?

My favourite bit was GaGa waitressing. You would not eat anything that bitch set in front of you, looking like that.

Nah, the video didn't make any sense, and the song sounds like a typical Eastern-Bloc Eurovision entry... But it was bloody entertaining!!! lol

True and when did Britney ever say she wanted to be Madonna? She always said she wanted to be Janet.

Anyways, this video is VERY Madonna - Erotica era/Girlie show.

Her exact quote when she first hit the scene was "I want to be a legend like Madonna and Janet Jackson." The media keeps comparing her to Madonna, but it's obvious by her videos, dance moves, photos, stage shows, singing technique etc. that she is most influenced by Janet.

The video is great, but the song sucks. I don't really like any of her songs actually, too generic as far as production and vocals go.

Oh lol

I think she says that because Madonna's camp forces her to. Britney was at the RWU tour - LA show, front row and taking notes cool

My favourite Jonas Akerlund video is Madonna's 'American Life'.

There's an edit of the video on his website, which I've never seen before. It's even more heavy-handed with its message, than other versions I've seen.

Just right-click and save:
http://www.raf.se/items/0...n_Life.mov

The American Life album is so uneven and so... odd.

but the video?! excited I dig it.

I liked the first half better though, maybe because it was Beyonce-less. shrug

Beyonce just doesnt do it for me in the video. She doesnt need to start trying to be "different". She needs to stick to what she knows, which is playing it safe.

It's been like that every single time for me. The songs themselves are pretty boring and "plastic". But it's the visual that makes her interesting. And it's the videos that make the songs cool. It's the visuals that make her. Not her music.

falloff That's so funny because that's exactly what I think about several of her songs, especially Bad Romance!! The chorus really could just be from any Eastern European Song Contest entry! I thought I was the only one lol
