Are there any Heavy Metal bands/artists influenced by Prince? I am watching 100 Best Hard Rock Songs on Vh1. I was wondering if any hard rock musicians/band look to Prince as an influence. Maybe, Prince would be considered too Pop Rock or Mainstream to be taking seriously by the "Head Banger" scene. What do you think? | |

There sure are!! Slash & Duff McKagen from Guns N Roses/Velvet Revolver have said they came up with a ton of riffs listening to PRINCE and CAMEO songs. In fact, Slash w/ Rod Stewart covered PEACH...pretty good version IMHO. Duff did a bad cover of BAMBI though... Living Colour was definitely influenced by Prince, even did a cover of 17 Days which is very unique! KISS guitarist Paul Stanley consistently goes to Prince shows (he was seen sitting at the Musicology show in LA) There are probably a lot more, but they haven't gone on record or I haven't seen it.
