Worst track of the album; singlehandely destroys the flow of the album, specially when it's sandwitched between those two masterpieces called Off the Wall and She's Out of My Life. The lyrics are corny at best (Fuc* off Paul) and Jackson, not surprinsingly, sings the song with a clear tongue-in-check attitude, maybe because he didn't give a hoot about the song to begin with...A novelty number. Just compare his singing in Girlfriend and then in Out of my life , and you'll find where his heart was...
This track is the reason which OTW will ALWAYS be one step behind Thriller, an album with all killers-no fillers. Anyway, The Girl is Mine was a HUGE improvement over Girlfriend...

Lol@The hate for this song
It's sappy and everything but that was typical Mike. He's obviously done his share of cheesy songs, but this was perhaps among his cheesiest. Still, I like it and MJ sounds great as always. It's cute song, not meant to be taken seriously. It always puts me in a good mood. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

When I first heard the song, I had it on repeat for quite a while. Now "It's The Falling In Love", I could totally do WITHOUT that track. Sunset Driver should have replaced it

I LOVE It's The Falling In Love! Sunset Driver...I'm starting to think the version we heard was a later version that was done after Off The Wall, kinda like how the mix of Streetwalker that we've heard is from AFTER Bad was released (from 1988/89) "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Don't know about that, but I do love "Sunset Driver" NOTHING from OTW should be replaced, absolutely nothing! But greedy ass sony, should've included the outtakes in the so-called remastered album.

They might release a SINGLE outtake via-remastered album/compilation(Buttercup) but not a group of them. Greed has brain.

Speaking of those Stevie/J5 sessions, Motown is considering a deluxe edition of sequel to "I Want You Back!: The Unreleased Masters" this year and more tracks from that particular session may be included. Motown also has 2 live recordings from the Forum in LA from 1970 and 1972 Sony has until 2011 or 2012 to release stuff because if the estate doesn't neogotiate, the masters revert back along with the distribution rights to Michael's concerts and his unreleased songs Motown has 200 unreleased songs that they can do whatever with, like the J5's cover of Stevie's "If You Really Love Me" that I really want to hear "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

They did the Budweiser Superfest back in '82 and for the longest time I thought they had performed It's The Falling In Love, but now I'm hearing they performed "Stuff Like It" They may have performed both songs (That's what I'm hoping ) [Edited 3/7/10 17:08pm] [Edited 3/7/10 17:09pm] "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. It's a good song....very funky!! But there's nothing on OTW that it should have replaced.OTW is flawless...a perfect album just the way it is.
"Sunset Driver" should have been released though,in some form or another.Perhaps on 'Triumph'?

I was when I discovered that Cheater was from '87. The fender rhodes playing was a 1980/1981 throwback but MJ's singing and the guitar lick were dead giveaways that the song was in fact an outtake from Bad. Such a KICK ASS gem,,,,,it doesn't sound dated to me at all. I don't get WHY songs like this one and Monkey Business get shelved they're among the LEAST dated songs from MJ's discography.

AND Cheater was recorded at his house I've wondered why Monkey Business got shelved. It was supposed to be the lead single for Dangerous but as the album progressed, Black Or White replaced it. Looking back, I can see it being released, but not on Dangerous. It's like every song fits, even Heal The World, which I've hated since I first heard it when I was 5 not to mention, he would work on a song, put it away, and then take it out and work on it again, as was the case for Little Susie (written in '79 while he was writing Heartbreak Hotel and Lovely One, but not released until '95) Earth Song (written in '88 for Dangerous) Dirty Diana (written in '83 for possibly Victory) Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' was for Off The Wall, Liberian Girl was for Victory, Streetwalker was for either Bad or a Broadway play he was writing and then I found out that This Is It and Love Never Felt So Good was planned for a MJ/Paul Anka collaboration album AND he had done an album of classical inspired songs after he did Off The Wall..... Most of the songs mentioned could've fit easily into HIStory, in fact, some of them did.

Michael was always working on an album or two or three. He never stopped. It's just that he wasn't releasing any because, as we know, he was a perfectionist so there could be a lot of works he did over the years that we still haven't heard.

I forgot to add that They Don't Care About Us was originally written and recorded in '89 during the Dangerous sessions They Don't Care About Us and Earth Song were originally from the Dangerous sessions, Come Together was from 1985 (but remixed), Little Susie was written in 1979..... Damn, I really have done my research! "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."
