I don't care for Usher but the production and arrangements is amazing. More proof that Jimmy and Terry are consistent and timeless.

Thanks for sharing Midiscover. This is the best track I've heard in awhile. I love everything about the music, the lyrics, concept. Maybe Jan already got some of their fire on her new record. They did start working with her last year. I've never slept on J&T. Probably my favorite producing team. "Not iconic" my ass.

This is beautiful, hypnotic and sexy. The Usherman done got him one. Do you guys think they'll release it as a single? Would it be a hit single if they do?
It does sounds like the same piano effect as "Enjoy". Good ear Cinnie!

I agree everytime I hear there work with other artist. I prefer them with Janet. They bring her melodies and vocals out more than anybody. But here I am again talking about Janet can't help it. This song should have been hers its beautiful

You're welcome smile I love everything about this song too. It reminds me of their work with Janet. The tracks they did with Janet last year may make the album- I really hope it does. I think this song will be a hit on the R&B charts. I'm not so sure about the Pop charts. It doesn't seem to have crossover appeal like most of Usher's work.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that while I think the production is exquisite, and that it makes me dream of the day they work with Janet (and even Mariah) again, the song itself doesn't really do much for me.

"Mars vs. Venus" is pure mood music, with a melody that doesn't really make me want to sing along and vocals that aren't really anything out-of-the-ordinary for Usher. It sounds a little off...or disconnected...or something I can't quite put my finger on...

Sure, it's good for having sex to (let's call a spade a spade here) but I don't think it's all that good of a *song*.

I'd say that "Sex Therapy", a close comparison, is better put together.

Thanks for the post. This is a great track. Ive been so disappointed in Usher lately that its nice to hear some great music from him once again.

His earlier stuff up until Confessions was awesome. After that he fell off.

The dude can sing thats for sure.

I can't believe I've been listening to an Usher song on repeat for close to an hour now. I usually don't ride with Usher like that. But Damn!

Let me just say it's so refreshing to hear a good, well written, well produced song. I'm exhausted with the disposable music that's released these days. After one listen you're over it. Not the case with tracks like this. I've been picking this joint apart, enjoying every little thing about it.

BTW, if or when Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins said that J&T weren't producing anything iconic for Janet. I thought that was ironic and so disrespectful. It was ironic because here he is biting their "ICONIC" style for new music on Janet. I know Rodney's good people and all but damn if he didn't sound cocky with that. A song like this should calm all that ego down and cause him to take notes, son.

Usher is soooo borrring. Sorry guys.

The production is nice, but Usher's songs all kind of bleed together
for me. If you've heard 1801 or whatever, you've heard it all.
Makes me want to yawn and fall asleep. zzz

And I know I'm not alone with my thinking on this.

I agree. I love the music but I wish someone else was singing. That being said Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis have been on point since they stopped working with Janet.

This is really nice. The production is top notch.

It reminds me of R. Kelly's Sex Planet razz and Janet's Love 2 Love. Nice to see Jimmy & Terry being so consistent with their work. I was a bit scared that they lost their touch after the production they did on Janet's 20 Y.O. and Ledisi's last album. I hope they get back with Janet for her next album.
