RN1814 was recorded right after Control. The similarities between RN1814 and Dangerous is quite obvious.

While Janet was singing about prejudice, ignorance, bigotry and illiteracy, MJ was actually out there donating to the charities to actually make a change. They both handled the awareness differently

While Janet was singing about prejudice, ignorance, bigotry and illiteracy. She was supporting several charities and even opened her own scholarship fund for less fortunate students. During that time she also helped two sisters graduate from High school and get their diploma with the song - The Knowledge. You know MJ's fav. song from Janet.

POWW!!! lol

Lawd!! You MJ floons bring the Lolz.

Jimmy & Terry wanted to work with Janet because A&R John McClain told them she's a fan of their work with the Time and they wanted to work with her too because they wanted to help her. It has nothing to do with being a Jackson. Last time I checked all 7 of those mothafuckas were flopping harder than Precious. MJ isn't raw talent. Deal. Claymaine was a good singer and bassist but his talent ain't shit in comparison to Janet. You should stop underplaying her talent.

The thing is you're not making any sense right now. WTF does this mean - "The thing is you would never know how successful Janet would be without her last name because her brothers were there first, even when she played Penny her brothers were already famous." Who cares if they were already famous? Janet became more famous! Deal. No one cares for her other brothers except for MJ.

Penny > The other ones.

How did her brothers influence a director of a sitcom to put her on the show. Now you're really showing your craziness. Last time I checked she did a little part of the script and did the whole crying scene and she got the job.

Done.

Well you know so little about the showbiz industry. Yea she became more famous than the other brothers, apart from MJ, but the fact is they were still there first. What's to say if she wasn't just another pretty black girl with that voice Jimmy Jam and Lewis would still want to work with her? Your the one who can't deal with the probablity people were initially only interested in Janet because of her last name, including Jimmy Jam and Lewis. You need to deal with that....the media were still calling her "Michael Jackson's little sister" even after Control and Rhythmn Nation had blown up.

The fact is MJ was raw talent, it was there for everyone on the chitlin circuit to see when he was only 5. It was there for the whole nation to see when he was 11 years old and he got his first number 1 and by the time he was 24, he had become legendary. Agreed some of his latter stuff were so great, but raw talent is raw talent even when the songs aren't great.

Ch....

Janet was 19 years old when she released Control
20 years old when she became an icon.
23 years old when she became a legend and made history with RN1814

She has more creative and meaning in her albums.

Janet IS raw talent whether you like it or not. It's not everyday you see someone do half the shit she did at such a young age.

Deal.

Having raw talent is completely different from having great produced albums by great producers, who were probably only were interested in you because of your last name. Now I admire Janet, I think she craved out a good career for herself, I even agree that some of her stuff is better than MJ stuff, but that's still different from raw talent. Without Jimmy Jam and Lewis, her last name and Paula Abdul I don't believe she would have had half of her success. The fact is that's how her success began. As someone said her first two albums were complete flops. She probably got a record deal in the first purely because of her last name.

Janet is a raw talent.

Jimmy & Terry doesn't care about the other family. Just Janet. Deal.

Paula Abdul wouldn't have had a career in music if it wasn't for Janet.

Her last name doesn't mean shit. It didn't mean shit when those 7 siblings released music and it still doesn't. Deal. Janet's most successful album doesn't have her last name. She stopped putting her last name since then. Deal

Janet got a record deal because she's talented.

The end.

Paula abdul wouldn't have had a career without the Jacksons. Infact it was her brothers who introduced Paula to Jane. Paula was having an affair with Jackie at the time. So once again Janet was handed something because of her brothers.
You need to deal with Janet, likewise Latoya got record deals in the first place because of their last names.
Jimmy Jam & Lewis may not have been interested in all the Jacksons, but they took interest in Janet, probably due to her last name.
And before all these factors came into the picture Janet albums were flopping. Dance lessons, great producers with lots of hard work can do wonders for someone, just look at Madonna. She is very similar to Janet, very little raw talent, but great producers, lots of reinvention of image, great videos and lots of hard work and she come across like the best thing since slice bread.
