What a pity. Her nostrils took a beating & her voice will never be the same.

This come back road she's on, is going to be rough. Her semblance, says a lot too. Her apparel is 2D9's but her face tells of her drug use.

She should take it easy and not perform songs that are now beyond her singing abilities. Sometimes she reminds me of her cousin, Dionne Warwick. Super nasal. (no pun intended lol)

Whitney used to have a great voice. Drugs are a bitch. Unfortunately, she will never sound the same.

k.d. Lang is the best damn singer today IMO. No auto tune shit for her. She KNOWS how to sing.

It's only been in recent DAYS that I've started to realize just how talented k.d. lang is with singing. I grabbed all of her albums to take a good listen and see if I liked them enough to get them physically. (I can recognize someone's talent without needing to buy their records. I'm giving k.d. lang a run.) Annie Lennox is the other voice near the top 3 or 4 female voices in the industry.

It could be a mixture of drug abuse and the loss of sheer power, which is kind of a Drinkard trademark. Cissy Houston can't hardly sing anymore and Dionne (yes she's a Drinkard, Warrick was her mother's marriage name) is doing the same thing Whitney is doing. Plus all that singing and not really taking care of her voice also led to what you hear. In spots, she can still sing through her chest voice but her head voice is absent. And since neither Cissy, Dionne or Delia (Dee Dee) can't sing the way they used to, I guess Whitney can now be added to it.

Can't hear/see this video but like I said before Timmy, the voice is shot. There's not a thing a voice coach can do, they aren't miracle workers. Maybe her fans will support her in spite of, as Mr. Sinatra fans did when he couldn't sing a lick... the last twenty years of his career. Sad.

Hmm, well I started out kinda weird. I had the Even Cowgirls Get the Blues soundtrack for awhile but it was after I saw her live (on television) that I was hooked and ran out and bought Absolute Torch and Ingenue which I both love.

She has a Live by Request album that captures a lot of the purity I fell for. I know a lot of fans like Hymns of the 49th Parallel but I haven't heard the whole thing. She also has a collection that was released earlier this year that you can check out for a variation of everything she's done.

I didn't want to thread jack with a video and all but she just performed Hallelujah at the Winter Games.

Sorry hon, got to disagree with you here. HE'S sounding better than he has in years right now while she is still acting like a diva while sounding like a train wreck. disbelief I can't believe she has the audacity to act like she's the shit again when she sounds more like shit than anything. She needs a vocal coach badly. I couldn't even bare to listen to her destroy that song for more than 22 seconds.

Bob Dylan does the same thing, now. He really can't hit any notes so he just kinda spews them out in between gasps. It's kinda sad generally, although he is still capable at times of good performances.

Whitney can still be an effective performer, but she needs to not set herself up to fail. They need to work on some arrangements that will work for her new voice, which is deeper and huskier on the album.

As for K.D. Lang - totally agree, she is one of the finest voices of the last 25 years, no doubt about it. Her Live by Request collection is utterly stellar. She just released a new 2-disc compilation (actually just last week) that is really superb.

Whitney is a professional now at dodging out of singing a whole tune straight through. She knows exactly when to stop like she need water and act like she is exhausted. So she can rest her voice enough to try and hit those notes. But the sad part is it still doesn't help. Plus that is not her hitting that note at the end. That is her backup singer. Poor Whitney. But she is a diva enough to know people are going to follow her anyway and support her. She has die-hard fans like Michael Jackson had..

Bottom line. But then again the people behind Whitney are kinda like the people behind MJ, instead of helping her, they're allowing this to go on, I doubt there's a lot of folks who are really in Whitney's corner, especially considering how she shunned many during her drug years but who knows?

Never saw this skit. Too funny.

Honestly, I could understand Whitney lip synching at this point. Not that I would like it but I could understand it. Or maybe at least re-record the vocals. Her talky-phrasy singing reminds me of lame Vegas act and the bad vocals, well they're just bad.
