She cut the long/big notes short for a reason and sounded "scratchy" - maybe she'd just been singing for an hour straight?? I dunno ! But, a couple of times I've seen her perform live on TV lately - she has been a shadow of her former self ! Looks like a case of a good singer living off her name and reputation. Still - each to their own - have never been a big fan, though would always acknowledge that the girl could sing - for me, it was (like Mariah) too often the case of deliberately fitting in as many warbles and octaves into 3 minutes as she could, rather than giving it real emotion?? Do I need to duck abuse at this point?? Just an opinion !! I'm only having some fun ! | |

sad indeed, but at least she's out performing instead of huddling in a corner whacked out of her head on crack. Her voice is never going to be what it was, but hopefully she can work through her issues and keep getting stronger as a vocalist. * * *

I liked it. I thought she sounded just fine. Good, in fact.
I couldn't stand her voice in the '80s and early '90s. It was technically excellent, of course, but it didn't move me. It was like showboating. And I loathed the over-the-top schlock of I Will Always Love You. I always felt she missed the heart and emotion of the original by focusing instead on grandstanding. The version here is closer to the original, which made me enjoy it. | |

I have said the following time time again. I hate Whitney's version simply because it was not meant to be sung in the way that she sings it. The song is about letting sombody go, even if you or they don't want you to. That being said, something like that is a very tender and heartfelt moment on both parts...Why in the HELL would I want you to be singing these sentiments at such a volume where my ears start to bleed. Whitney sings this without feeling for the feeling that the song is supposed to be demomstrating. If one listens to Dolly's version, it is sung from the heart. Whitney's version was only made to show that she could belt out a tune. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth" |

Very sad she had one of the most beautiful female voices I ever heard especially live. Now its just gone. She don't even sound like the same person. Its time to hang your singing career up Whitney. I know Clive wanted U back. But maybe u should go back to acting. U were pretty good at that.I'm glad U beat your addictions. But enough is enough...  will ALWAYS think of  like a "ACT OF GOD"!
