I don't think there going to remove MJ's vocals totally. I think they might just add Janet's vocal over Michael's lead vocal. There are ways they can keep both vocals on there. Quincy will figure it out. He is a master recording producer.

An example of great civilized response....thanks for that.

The song was just on HLN. It sounds a lot like the original, although the beat is lame. It's electronic and sounds like Lil Wayne took a dump on the drum beat. Celine was seen singing the bridge, mainly Cyndi Lauper's part. I didn't see anyone else around her, so I don't know if she's doing it solo or not.

Remember NO ONE who sang on the original version is on the 2010 version, including Michael Jackson.

Lil Wayne did Bob Dylan's part. Yeeeeeshhh.

Remember, the proceeds of this goes to Haiti. THAT is why they're redoing it.

Lies.

Total lie, agreed. Quincy and Lionel just said the opposite on the news. NO ONE from the original song is going to be on THIS version. NO ONE. Not MJ. Not Lionel. NO ONE.

When you can talk in plain English, I'm all for it. I do respect you, even as much as you've been wrong in this thread. comfort See?

English is not my native language...

I do respect you too but I prefer not to talk with you any more, they way you respond to others is really disrespectful!!!!!

I think he's just trying to get it through your thick head as to what they're doing. Ain't no one mad.

You realize that "wrote" and "composed" are pretty much the same thing, they way you're using them. He didn't write it alone either. Lionel Richie had equal share in writing that song. It was a truly collaborative effort. Lionel was just as much in his prime at that point as MJ was, too.

MJ isn't alive. It'd be a little creepy to put his vocals in something he did 25 years ago, just for the sake of having him in there - after his death. It'd be a cheap ploy, and they'd instantly be accused of milking his death for some attention. So the idea of him being in there is moot. This is a NEW version, ergo no MJ.

Creativity gone? Not really. "We Are The World" isn't the first song to be covered, or remade, not by a long shot.

Im just trying to find the reason why he called me a thick head , especially when I have never attacked him personally and I don’t know him , and I do not know why some members take things so fucking seriously , its all about music, and its not that serious, if someone tries to prove another wrong then they can do it respectfully, No need to call others names, I can say that most members do not follow the rules of this board, respect is a rarity on here.

The best thing to do about people like that is to ignore them or him. Like I have. That will make them or him even more unhappy & miserable than they really already are.....

Many people couldn't make it to the recording at the studio but I believe they still provided vocals and I heard that they will digitally insert artists into the video.

I don't know why it is a big deal. It happened during the original recording. A few vocals and parts were added after the original recording session.

I don't see the point in remaking it. shrug

Hunger and AIDS running rampant here and abroad isn't played.

In a world of self-important 20 year olds, I think it's a great idea. The baton of responsibility needs to be passed along. A charity isn't a P.R. ploy. It is now to people of course, but back then it was a real issue to folks, and a real reason to do something. The idea of taking care of the your fellow manfolk needs to be passed down. Maybe this is one way to do that. It's not the ONLY way, but it's one way. Plus, it's 25 years, so it's a reason to draw attention to it again.

I'm not necessarily looking forward to the new version, but I am curious about it a bit....just to hear if it's really good, or really not.

I don't see the point in re-making it either. They could make a whole new song that would serve the same purpose.

I think this is more of an opportunity for people to pay homage to MJ for co-writing it. They could have re-make "What More Can I Give" and released it just as easily.

Prince could have written that song on the ride back in his limo to his hotel.

Yea, me neither. I guess it's more like a MJ tribute too since his kids are on it.
