Sam Cooke
Eddie Vedder Layne Staley Prince James Carr Little Willie John Shannon Hoon Scott Walker .....I'll leave it at 8, can't nail down the final two with any resolve, like do I prefer Neil Young's voice more than Bowie even though Tim Buckley usurps both technically and some of his songs are favourites but there're fewer of them or do I pluck for Tim Hardin who's got the quantity factor but not the shining holy-shit greatness of some of the previous artists music? Or do I take the obvious choice and say put a Marvin Gaye just cos I can't figure an objective preference? I'll stick with 8.

LOL I forgot to include myself also. Throughout the years I've heard people say I sound like a lot of the people I mentioned in my first post. It's guess it's natural since I've studied them all so closely. But when I had an engineer tell me, on a particular part of a song, that I reminded him of TTD I was like "I'm nowhere near that level, but thanks anyway." And when I was in a vocal group in the 90's doing cover tunes I always sang the parts by Nate Morris, Ricky Bell, and K-ci. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!
