And what's all the fuss over the video? It's distinctly average and nothing Tina Turner hasn't done before.

Is this really how low music videos have stooped, where this is considered the best around?? I remember in the 90s when music videos used to have something called a budget... it would take more than a grey backdrop and two backing dancers to get people excited.

if someone told me i'd be defending this song when it first came out, I would of lol x's 1239843

anyways,
Simplicity is gold. It is iconic. AC/DC's sheer proof of that!
& it's GREAT that it's reminscent of Tina Turner. I'd rather it be her than some 15 minute pop star. We need to see some old influences from the golden era's of the 70's kicking into today's mainstream.
Music is headed upward these days. We're realizing those who write and play their own instrument will get the recognition- hence Gaga and Taylor Swift. Beyonce isn't -for the most part- dragging it down.

AC/DC sucks too.

I still don't understand what the hell the song is talking about. Are all the single ladies putting their hands up to let the guys know that they are single so put a ring on it? Is it a negative thing to be single in this song or a positive thing? I thought the song was garbage after the first time I heard it. It really doesn't make any sense when you actually sit done and listen to it...plus, the robo glove is creepy as hell. The video was pointless after the third time I watched it and after watching her perform it on every talk show, awards show, and any other special she was on without changing a single step I seriously wanted to pull a Tonya Harding on Beyonce and take out her damn knee cap with a bat so I wouldn't have to see her do that fucking dance ever again. She's one of the most overrated, overhyped, unoriginal artists that's out now.

I can't believe that she won 6 Grammys last night for this piece of shit song. She didn't deserve to win Album of the Year because the album is terrible. The only solo album that is good from her is her first one and it's not even great; just good. Her performance last night was her jocking others from the time the camera hit her face with that close up. Michael did the armed soldiers entourage thing back on the HIStory album. 'If I Were A Boy' would be a good song...if Ciara hadn't already done a similar concept 2 years before Beyonce and I hadn't already seen Shanice sing it 10 times better than Beyonce on Youtube (she also sings 'Halo' better than Beyonce ever could).

Why the hell did Alanis Morrisette allow this bitch to fuck up a perfectly good song? mad There was nothing wrong with the original version and now I have to be subjected to Beyonce trying (and failing) to pull it off. She just bludgeoned and almost strangled the life out of a great song. Alanis, do what Desiree did when Beyonce recorded 'Kissing You' without her permission...tell the bitch 'NO', send her a cease and desist, and threaten to sue her ass. Beyonce wouldn't know 'originality' if it sat on her face and let one rip...she's been copying Diana Ross since her career started and do we really need another Diana Ross? hmph! I just hope that she starts poppin' out babies with Joe Camel...err, I mean Jay-Z, as soon as possible so she can disappear for at least a few months, maybe even years (one can hope). All just my twocents

falloff Clever comeback. Did you come up with it on you own or did you get help from your parents? lol The title of the thread justifies my response, so why are you in this thread if you think Beyonce is the best thing since sliced bread? Start a thread about how amazing she is and trust me, you won't see me anywhere near it. If you are offended enough to respond to my statement, than it must bear some truth otherwise, why respond? Maybe you shouldn't take my opinion of a celebrity soo seriously. Stay cool

confuse I grip about taxes and cold weather too. If something annoys you and it's hard to avoid, you have the right to complain; and, considering that Beyonce dominates the radio (pop and R&B stations) and many other facets of the entertainment industry why not grip about her? There's nothing wrong in having a negative opinion about someone or something and being able to voice that opinion in an open forum. If people don't like the 'dislike' threads, than why do they waste their time and even read the comments when they can just read the title of the thread and know what to expect before even clicking on it? If this was a 'Let's talk about how great Beyonce is' thread and people came in here dogging her than I could totally understand your point; but, it's not, so I don't get all the hostilily to the non-Beyonce supporters. People have a right to dislike her if they choose. So, if Beyonce fans don't like the anti-Beyonce threads, maybe they should take their own advice and just ignore them.

Yeah, I'm really a fan of Beyonce. I've never owned any of her albums. So, I don't think she's the best thing since sliced bread.

I just think a lot of the venom she gets on this site is fucking hilarious!!!

People here spend way too much time talking about her, even though they claim to hate her.

I don't like Britney Spears' music, so I don't make a lot of posts about that Cheeto Stained Disaster.

I don't think she's really "amazing", like you think I do. I think she's a harmless pop star. But the way folks here talk about her, you'd think she was the Devil Incarnate.

She's not the greatest thing in music history, but she ain't the worst either.

It's really not that serious comfort

I could give a rat's ass about Beyonce probably why you wouldn't find me writing paragraphs on paragraphs about how overrated and unoriginal she is. I just find it hysterical that people would put so much time and energy into someone or something they despise. That's all.

lol

Now you may continue your rant about Beyonce.

lol I can't stand Britney either so talk shit about her all you want and I'll agree with you. I have no problem in saying that Beyonce has good vocal abilities, but she insists on singing mindless drivel that's catchy just so she can sell albums and that bothers the hell out of me from any artist. Real music shouldn't be focused soo heavily on platinum plaques, multiple number 1 singles, and debuting at number one on the Billboard Top 100. If that seems to be an artist's top priority than I have a problem with that person and that's seems to be what Beyonce strives for to me.

Honestly, I love Janet and I've read some really evil things about her on this website, but I ignore them and let people have their own opinions of her because I realize that not everybody is going to love Janet and if they want to talk shit about her than they have the right to do so. Everything I typed in my initial post, I'd say directly to Beyonce's face if I ever met her because I don't believe in holding my true feelings in and pretending to nice to anybody. I just hate when anyone gets loads of praise for what I feel is mediocre work at best.

The fact that she won 6 Grammys, the majority for 'Single Ladies', (the most ever won by a female artist in a single night in the show's history) is absolutely ridiculous to me. I honestly thought that Lauryn Hill had won the most Grammys with 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill', but I guess not. In all the categories that she one in, there were songs by other artists that were 10 times better, lyrically, vocally, and instrumentally, than 'Single Ladies'. Ledisi 'Goin' Thru Changes' is phenomenal and it lost to this song. Melonie Fiona 'It Kills Me' lost to this song. P!nk 'Sober' lost to this god awful song. The people on the Grammy voting committee really must have been smokin' some good shit to let this song be the big winner of the night. I would have given her an award for 'Halo' or even 'If I were a boy', but never for 'Single Ladies'. Really talented people got cheated last night because they weren't popular and that really pisses me off...gotta vent somewhere.

Nah, I'm done venting about her, which is why I typed the paragraph initially...get it all out in one go. lol I would have been totally done after that if people hadn't responded to my post with comments that I felt were judging of my opinion and assinine based off of the topic of the thread...it's got 'official hate' in the title so the thread obviously wasn't going to be a Beyonce lovefest from the start. If someone says something I don't agree with about a subject or person I don't give a rat's ass about, I ususally just ignore that person and let them get it off their chest. Venting is healthy. I love your Janet avatar btw. Such a cute album. I have it on vinyl and really need to get the CD to add to my Janet section. mushy

Im just saying. It's no shade towards the thread starter, but this thread is doing nothing but PROMOTING the Beyonce AND the SINGLE LADIES song. Someone who hasn't heard the song probably stumbled on this thread and decided to give the song a listen, and now they're in love with it.

ever heard the term "punctuation"?

I'm torn. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it drives me crazy. I like that the video focuses solely on her dancing and not high fashion or being sexual. How many other popular stars out there do one long running scene of them dancing non stop? I just wish the moves weren't so ridiculous looking.

And if she had done that, people would say "Oh, she can't do a video without all this extra shit." There's no pleasing dumb bitches.
Not to mention I, too, know that I've seen Tina Turner turn flawlessly and spin, run up a ramp in stiletto heels and not bust her ass, have the nerve to J-sett better than the queens who popularized the shit, channel Sweet Charity and Gwen Verdon Fosse flawlessly, without missing a beat. I just don't remember when. Oh yes, the 33rd of NEVEREMBER.
Beyoncé and NARAS still tipped it on fo' fo's all on your ass, so you may kindly remain angry.

I don't mind people not liking something, but I dislike when stupid people have stupid reasons for not liking something.

The fact that you don't understand what the song is talking about, when it's about as PLAIN AS THE SUN SHINING IN YOUR EYES, makes me not want to drag your failgasm of a post, because you are clearly lacking in the mental department, and it would be like punching an infant.

But hopefully, someone will pull a Tonya Harding on that empty head, and I won't have to feel like such an ass.

The first time I heard this piece of shit I was shocked at how bad it was.

No amount of Grammy's, or Kanye West storming the stage is going to change my mind...

This song is horrid.

clapping clapping clapping

..that this song was a big hit speaks to how much the bar has been lowered musically. sad

20 years ago this song may have been good enough for a silly T.V comercial. That's about it.

I don't get why people love Beyonce's wavery voice anyway. I guess she DOES stay on key, which beats 90% of the rest of what is out there. But she mostly hollers here way thru everything she sings. Looking at her on the other hand..oh..NOW I get it...wink

So it has nothing to do with the fact that you're obviously a Beyonce fan then?

Pathetic.
