Grunge destroyed Rock music, it didn't save it. It took out all the fun and rebellion and replaced it with self loathing crap.

I started listening to rock again because of grunge. I liked the dark, depressing lyrics. To each his own. shrug

I can listen to shit like this all day...

Yes, this is what ruined rock 'n roll.

Some would say so, but it was rock n roll that failed to produce. Thank you Slash and Axl Rose.

Rock got ruined as it went less & less from it's roots IMO, those roots are in black music and getting people on the dance floor, not this depresing bullshit Nirvana & Radiohead spout. How can you be so jaded when you're making millions, fucking plenty groupies, an unlimited access to any drug and neck-high in celebrity gifts eek
Did Prince ever deny he had sex with his sister? I believe not. So there U have it..

That's the beauty of rock & roll, it comes in so many formats and has since the late 1940s. nod To base it off just Nirvana and Radiohead is doing a disservice IMHO.

They became "jaded", because they belong to a small group of artist that really are in it for the joy of making music.

i like a few nirvana songs (this one included), but can't stand some others and to me they weren't "all that". could've been, maybe rose. i listened to hole's live through this more than i ever did any of there's lol lurking

You do know that Live Through This was pretty much Kurt's album. I believe he wrote just about every song on that album. That is why it is so much better than anything else Hole ever released.

I always felt that Pretty on the inside was better then Live Through This.

I think this is a misconception.

I don't actually think the music of Nirvana is depressing at all. It makes me happy, in fact. Sure there are some songs (Something in the Way, Pennyroyal Tea). The subject matter may be negative, but generally the music is upbeat & full of energy.

Radiohead isn't depressing at all. Even their subject matter isn't depressing. Creep is basically funny, and most of their music doesn't even have a negative subject matter like Nirvana's. You could say they're dorky and boring, but not depressing.
