Narada Michael Walden and featured Guitarists (Carlos Santana, Ray Gomez, Graydon, etc.)

...

I was just thinking about this while I was looking at carlcranshaw's Jay Graydon /Randy Goodrum thread. Jay was just one of the guitarists that Narada Michael Walden used to prominently feature, especially on his early albums. Guitar played such a big part in his compositions, I originally thought that Narada was a guitarist, too!

Narada - The Awakening Suite, Pt.1, featuring Ray Gomez

Narada - Awakening, featuring Carlos Santana

Narada - Listen To Me featuring Jay Graydon

Narada -The Dance of Life, featuring Corrado Rusticci

Narada - I Remember, featuring Hiram Bullock

Narada - First Love, featuring Carlos Santana

In other Narada news...

20.Jan.2010 13:54

Last week I went to LA to rehearse with a new band line up for my 2010 World Tour.
I am thrilled to introduce the mighty Narada Michael Walden on drums.
The astonishing Rhonda Smith on bass and with Jason Rebello on keyboards the sound is electrifying.

2010 looks set to be a good year and I can’t wait to get on the road.

Although the jetlag sucks!

J.B

...Looks like Jeff Beck has him back on kit.

More from Jeff's website.

Narada Michael Walden, from Michigan, got his big-time start tasking Billy Cobham's place in John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra. In 1975 they did a co-billing tour with Jeff Beck (the BLOW BY BLOW) album.
In 1976 he wrote half of the Jeff Beck WIRED album and played drums on the majority of it as well.
So add John McLaughlin and Jeff Beck to the list of guitar players.

"Sophie" from WIRED

Jeff Beck guested on Narada's first solo album GARDEN OF LOVE LIGHT on the track "The Saint And The Rascal".
Narada also produced the majority of Aretha Franklin's WHO'S ZOOOMIN'WHO? album, and one tune, "Push" featured Carlos Santana on guitar.
catch Narada's debut with Jeff Beck on the Grammys Sunday, Jan. 31st. After that they (Jeff's new band) start the tour in London Feb. 13th on a co-bill
with Eric Clapton

I won't be missing this Jeff Beck performance if they land in L.A.

Nobody thought anyone could fill Billy Cobham shoes when he left Mahavishnu Orchestra.
