I've heard this term use before, but I have to ask again, what is gay icon? I know that Judy Garland and Bette Davis were gay icons but is their any performers out nowadays that are considered to be gay icons??

There's too many to list. Put into google, top 50 gay icons, see what comes up...

gayness goes as far back as the 1800's??? ... damn i have to laugh at myself for being so sheltered...

Usually some semi talented hack that realized that giving a few morsels to the attention starved stuffed wallet gay community gives them a gravy train for life.
