There's no telling what he would have done if he hadn't gotten locked up. I live in Dallas and they played his music around here a LOT before his crossover success. Billboard and All Music provide a GREAT resource when you want to see the chart success of someone's career. Instead of saying they only had ONE song. Search before you post sometimes. Most rappers from the south NEVER make rhyme skills a big deal like the east coast rappers do. But then again, the east coast (except for Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Biggie) were NEVER able to outsell the south in album sales for the last 1 1/2 decades. Just saying. i'm not sure if that is completely true. regardless. it sucks that you have to pull out the record sales argument simply because the artist you are defending is terrible. there are a handful of good southern rappers and to make the claim that mystikal is second only to scarface really makes me wonder. (i know its just an opinion. being one of the few (knowledgable) hip-hop listeners on the forum i figure i should give feedback on topics such as this one) You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

Oh no here comes the unintelligible raps again. Between him and Twista, I still don't know what the fuck he says in his songs.
And he gotta be a dummy saying he found God, yet said he was wrongly imprisoned (though he taped the situation) and then said people gotta take responsibility... He still ain't learned his lesson. Got damn Michael Tyler.

I rather give Mystikal a fair opportunity to redeem himself musically than a lot of the shit-hop/rhythmless bullshit (r&b) of the 2000's.

with me he is someone that came from that "time period" that i have little feeling for from most artists. Mystikal had a unique style in some respects but it was almost "gimmicky" and that can carry you for a bit but it wears and then becomes annoying and you dont last. I think this would have happend with JaRule had 50cent not made that call to end his career, i think his trademark grunting was already growing tired, and people were sick of the whole Gotti shit at that point. But Mystikal had his "peak" time, he isnt gonna re-capture that "peak", i really wish someone would slap everyone who had their "peak" and then tries to re-create it, and i think we know some who need that "peak" slap. thats my point
mystikal falls into the "shit-hop" category. redemption is not possible. he got lucky with a couple of gimmicky singles and when the hitmaking well runs dry for such an artist there isnt enough substance left to keep the music afloat. You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!
