Sade and Corinne Bailey Rae.. both have new cd's. I liked Corinne's debut cd, although I havent listened to it ina long while.
I love Sade, and have ever since her first album was released, Diamond Life I hear a similarity in styles to their voices and styles, Perhaps..perhaps Sade has a little more rythm. What do you think?...are you looking forward to these new releases?

I remember making this comparison in styles a couple
of years ago on the board and i got ripped by a few of the die hard Sade fans Of course i expect the you can never compare Corinne to Sade responses any minute now. Everybody tastes aren't the same. I like both artists equally but Corinne being the new kid on the block is gonna get backlash and she isn't for everybody much like Indie Arie. I remember when Sade first got in the game she wasn't for everyone either. Nevertheless; Corinne just has what you call "it." Her voice and music is just silky smooth and flows effortlessly. Don't laugh at my funk

Never hear of Corinne, but I am definately looking forward to Sade´s album. It´ll be first CD that I am gonna buy after a really LONG time. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

As you all SHOULD get ripped for comparing that whiny-voiced, caterwalling, BORING Corinne to Sade. That chick is LAME. She can't sing that well, her voice is nasally, cold and expressionless and her songs suck lyrically. About the only thing she has in common with Helen is they are both female and both biracial.
Oh, her PR team is TRYING to poise her as "the next" but she is far from it vocally or lyrically. It like comapring Ne-Yo to Luther Vandross. Sade sings about real shit - pain, love, life. That heiffer is singing about birds, butterflies and stars n' sh*t. Her songs come off like a hippie chick. She is more akin musically to Ingrid Chavez than Sade. Sade is far from hippy-ish. The closest vocalist I can think of to Sade in this day and age is Amel Larrieux. At least there are legit similarities. If y'all like Corrine, I understand but PLEASE spare the PR team manufactured comparison. This chick ain't no Sade in any way, shape or form.

Indie Arie sings about her hair, earthly thangs, and stars n shit too. Does she suck too? Like i said Corinne isn't for everybody. I wasn't swept by Put Your Records On but when i listened to the album i started digging her. I also like her spin on the remake of Free with a jazz artist whose name escapes me now. When Sade first hit,i remember people stating that her music was boring. I guess different strokes for different folks. http://www.soulculture.co...y-rae-live Don't laugh at my funk
