Tis true. I got to see him live here in Portland (with Jeff Lorber) when he in...or just out of high school.

There WAS a time before he became totally rancid jazz-cheese.

Haters should check him on the "Jeff Lorber Fusion" albums. Talented player, just ultimately chose to use his gift for evil rather than good

I also own some of Jeff's other 80's work aswell. He also went somewhat MOR and safe (at least, his "West side story" album seemed rather bland to me compared to his other work), but he also did alot of session and production work aswell in the 80's. I still really dig his "step by step" album, but not "private parts" as much.

and Kenny should get credit....even during his "sellout" period....he kept really sick funk players in his touring band (Vail Johnson, Bruce Carter, et. al).

Gorgeous track this. The mid 80's synth (synclavier, I cant usually tell?) bubbling away underneath Kenny's smooth playing.

Written by Kenny and Randy Jackson (no bass by him on the track though?). Produced by Kenny and Kashif. Kenny has rarely sounded as heartfelt as this I feel.
