Adam Lambert loves Mother's Finest which shocked me...they're pretty obscure! "Keep in mind that I'm an artist...and I'm sensitive about my shit."--E. Badu

Dig this song and album. Also love the Mother Factor album.

I dig Love Changes, both the live and studio version from the Mother Factor LP, which I dig from head to toe. How so? I should have been more clear...I think they are obscure among people of Adam's age group. I wish they were more well-known though. None of my friends has even heard of them but I am only 28... "Keep in mind that I'm an artist...and I'm sensitive about my shit."--E. Badu

Black radio stations kept their distance, and the rest kept a longer distance. They touched on that in their song Like A Negro. A damn shame because when you compare them to their peers now, they're among the few who STILL maintained that 'fire'.

File MF under "wrong complexion, no connection".
When I see them today they still look like a bunch of 25 year olds onstage. Now that's a band that needs a docu made on them plus a box set. And Moses Mo is still one of the baddest funk-rock guitarists on the planet.

I got their "Black Radio Won't Play This Record" CD, but never played it LOL. Is it any good? Whats it like? Heavy rock?

I always wanted to hear it but never got round to it. I know they did a new jack cut around 89 that they had a video for which was fairly decent but it wasn't Mother's Finest style which is why i think they did the Black Radio Won't Play This Record album. Don't laugh at my funk

Yeah, I pretty much just looked into it on discogs. Looks like Atlanta Zane Giles of all people had a hand on that album. I love some of his stuff from that era. Might be worth a punt on amazon. Cant find anything about that album on youtube though. I guess I'll hear my CD soon. Should be interesting....

I was fortunate I guess, to hear certain songs by them ( no deep cuts though) on a local black radio station back in the day, thanks impart to the righteous PD having a pair. We were well aware of them coming up, of course they didn't get heavy or regular radio rotation, but they did get heavy street and home rotation .
