Nothing really new to add. "Take Care" and "Enjoy" were modern day classics from jan/jam/lewis.

Thanks to this posting, I've been hypnotized all afternoon. The melody in "Take Care" is so tranquil. One of their best sensuous grooves, of any era. Speaking of which. After hearing these gems again, I question anyone's sanity that doubts whether or not Janet/Jam/Lewis and the Flyte Tyme camp can produce a hit today.
But back to the jam. I've always loved Jimmy Jam's bubbling moog bass underneath these kind of tracks. He plays it with a touch of jazz, toward the end of "Take Care." Her harmonies are always flawless. Overall, the thing I like about this song the most is the vamp, it just gets me everytime! "ah ah take care of me" The mood the music captures is just perfection. Sounds like its about to go down. Thanks for including the lyrics too. You know sometimes we gotta have that Janetranslation.

Makes me look forward to the new stuff!

Yes lawd. They just need JAN to get it out of them because alot of other artists they work with want something modern sounding and don't UNDERSTAND Jimmy & Terry like Janet still does. I believe The Time and Janet are the only two artists left that they are working with that understand them....Mariah did too, I give her that much credit, especially after making Bliss and Want You with her.

Album plays and love for vinyl records.

janet doesn't have the biggest singing voice. But the tone is soothing. I hate when she tries to much with her singing. When she keeps it simple it sounds soothing. But when janet try to adlib and do all kind of vocal arrangements sometimes it sounds strange.

One of my favorite janet song's is Island Life, toward the end of the songs, the harmonies just kind of sound strange. I wish she would have kept it simple.

Always preferred Janet's Ballads. She has the most sensuous ones. Just like Prince

I love the vulnerability in her voice. IMO, Love 2 Love is one of her sweetest vocal moments.

This is another one of Janet's underrated ballads-

Amen. Someday is Tonight is classic Janet Quiet Storm. This is making me want to burn a CD with nothing but steamy Janet quiet storm jams. Let's see, there's Funny How Time Flies, Someday is Tonight, Warmth, Moist, Love Scene (Ooh Baby), Would You Mind, China Love, AnyTime, AnyPlace, The Body That Loves You, Rope Burn, Discipline, Take Care, Love 2 Love, Making Love in the Rain, 70's Love Groove, Twenty Foreplay...
[Edited 1/4/10 21:13pm]

That is a hot track list. Jimmy Jam said recently. He always have Karen Carpenter in mind when he does her vocals...

World music is the traditional music or folk music of a culture that is created and played by indigenous musicians that is closely related to the music of the regions of their origin.

Ch!! If she does an Indian inspired song.....

I agree. When she tries to "belt" its a hot mess, unfortunately. As much as I like LWNDWY there's some funny adlibbing going on in the end. She sounds like she's got something caught in her throat. She sounds much better when she does this:
