Recommend some funky guitar-driven tracks!

I need a few songs to cover in the band for when we don't have the keyboardist that will keep the ladies dancing. Funky is good. Has to be recognizable.

Thanks!

Harlepolis

And ALL of his work in the P-Funk scene.

Seems we're getting a little heavy on Funkadelic stuff biggrin

What about this one? Should be pretty recognizable, and it's funky

This is a good suggestion. I never realized this one was so guitar driven before.

And, while I love this Funkadelic stuff, people will NOT know it where I play. KC and the Sunshine Band - yes, Funkadelic - no...haha.

I dig Lenny, too! I just wish he'd learn to write lyrics. The new album sounds promising.

It's funny because the soundman constantly plays this song while we're setting up our gear before the show.

Did Nile Rodgers play the guitar on "Notorious"? I know he produced the album and Andy Taylor wasn't in Duran at the time. That riff sounds like something Chic would have done.

Nile Rodgers kicks ass! I was thinking maybe "Good Times" by Chic and "Love Rollercoaster" by Ohio Players.

Here's another one....this isn't the original version of the song, but it's more guitar-based:

How did I forget about this one? The lead guitar is more rock, but there's some funky rhythm playing in there, too:

Here's the studio version:

Here's a live version from the 70s:
