How about some jazz? I thought I'd give some props to my uncle Bjorn Thoroddsen, who's an acclaimed jazz guitarist in Iceland and has been active in the jazz/fusion world both in Iceland and overseas for over 30 years. I've recently uploaded a bunch of videos from his career and I thought I'd share a few with the Org to start off the new year:
This is a song I'm not sure what's called but he played it on a Canadian TV show around the time when he did a gig with the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra last year (2009): Here's an older clip from a TV-show where Bjorn is playing with a lot of old-time Icelandic jazz musicians... this one is from 1991: And here's a clip from 2008 where Bjorn Thoroddsen is playing with acclaimed Japanese jazz guitarist Kazumi Watanabe at a guitar festival in Iceland: [Edited 1/2/10 6:27am]

I thought I'd add two more songs...
First off is a Django Reinhardt classic called "Swing 42". This time Bjorn is joined by Belgian jazz guitarist Philip Catherine: And the second clip is an interpretation of an Icelandic folk melody: [Edited 1/2/10 12:38pm]
