Nelly Furtado - How Great Is This Girl? I liked parts of her first album. I played "Like A Bird" on the first episode of my radio show back in 2001 (back when Sade was still making music too). I hated her shit hop adventures after that with Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and whoever else.
I was just flipping channels over to Palladia and her The Loose Tour is showing on there. As it happens, "Like A Bird" was playing. She totally fucked up the song, making a shit-hop song, and sounded like she had laryngitis. Just horrible. She looks like Courtney Cox's stand-in while filming a F*R*I*E*N*D*S episode. THEN she has the balls to cover "Heart of Glass" from Blondie! SACRILEGE! She's just horrible all around. I can't figure out what or who she is as a singer. Am I missing something with her? . I think she's truly deplorable whether it's her folky stuff or her pop stuff. Those nasal cords are just too much to bear. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Lol I saw her at some Z100 concert years ago and oh my gosh, my ears were bleeding the entire time she sang! When Nelly sang "I'm Like A Bird", my head began to hurt right away, she was so loud and nasally. She kept dragging out the notes in that awful nasal voice of hers. It was really irritating. I really wanted to cover my ears but I thought that would be rude so I didn't. I admit that I do like a few of her songs though, "Say It Right" and "Turn Off The Lights" are my faves and I like how she experiments with her music, but her voice can get quite annoying after a while. I would hestitate before ever going to see her in concert again. [Edited 12/22/09 18:09pm] "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ

I LOVE turn off the lights, and shit on the radio, I thought loose was okay, but honestly I don't see any problem with her voice. I like it. 2012: The Queen Returns

I'm a huge fan of Loose, which is the best album Timbaland has done (with Brandy's Afrodisiac) since Aaliyah died. I also love "I'm Like a Bird" and "Turn Off the Light." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

midiscover said: sextonseven said: When did Nelly record folk music? Her debut was very folk-y Nah, not really. Her second release was called Folklore but it still was not folk either. Both had some beautiful songs tho. I actually quite liked her. Then came the Timbaland mess.

I noticed she has a Spanish album. Came across it by accident while on Amazon. Was this even advertised in any way? I listened to the samples and didn't bother purchasing.
