It's a good song, but she was a Madonna sound-alike. Of course having the same producer didn't help. Wasn't it Jellybean Benitz that produced and wrote for her as well? SO many people thought "Baby Love" was Madonna when it came out. I don't necessarily remember another song from her.

According to All music, it was Stephen Bray (which was also a Madonna producer). I cannot find much info on her album, though.

YES, Stephen Bray. Great songwriter back then. The song was actually offered to Madonna by Bray, but she declined to record it.

It gets brought up here a lot actually. But it's a decent song. Had Madonna actually recorded it, it would probably be considered on par with the lesser half of True Blue or another filler track on the Who's That Girl soundtrack or You Can Dance remix album. shrug

Oh please, there were MUCH worse things in the 80's. But the 80's get a bad rap for cheese or whatever. Fact is, we are still talking about that music, from Blondie to Taylor Dayne.

So true. What was bad was the 90s (in retrospect). The 90s had BIG hits, but it started a bigger trend of one hit wonders and overnight sensations.

The bulk of the 90's was the dog's bollocks.

Dannii Minogue released this song in 1991 with a little help of Steve 'Silk' Hurly, who did a great remix. It charted at #14 at the UK.

I've never heard this version. I love almost everything Steve "Silk" Hurley touched in the 90s.
