Animal Collective-Anyone into this band? I was browsin through the net and I heard about this band that was highly rated as one of the best things musically this decade and with the potential to be really big in the next decade called Animal Collective. I heard one of their latest songs in youtube and I like it. Can yone tell me more about them?
Did Prince ever deny he had sex with his sister? I believe not. So there U have it..

I'm in the same boat as you. I just picked up their latest album, Merriweather Post Pavilion. It's running away with Album of the Year honors from the critics, while its lead single "My Girls" is doing the same as Single of the Year. I've only listened to it once, but it's impressive! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Hell yeah!!
I'm a novice when it comes to those new alt groups but after reading so much about Animal collective, great reviews, good critics, l saw their album "Strawberry Jam" for sale for 5 euros in my local Records store... Though it took me some time to like it (just like Crystal Castle), I must admit l'm glad I didnt throw the CD away as l first intended to! "Peacebone", "Derek", "Reverend Greene" and "Fireworks" And the song "My Girl" being my favourite! And the last single "My Girl" is a good tune too... But it's not easy to get hooked on first listen l must say... Noisy industrial electronic, with saturated recording... Not for the average listener, l must say Everybody is somebody, but nobody wants to be themselves.

Recently got Merriweather Post Pavilion album. IMO it's one of the most euphoric, happy records I've heard for a long time. It's kind of like the Beach Boys mixed into a joyous avant electropop soundscape. There are actually some good pop songs under in there too.I also hear shades of late '80s nerd pop band They Might Be Giants in the vocals and lyric attitude. Anyone remember their 'Birdhouse in Your Soul' single?
I like it, partly as imo it's easy to make a 'down' record but hard to make a good 'up', feel good record.

I find them insanely overrated, with a few great singles--much like Panda Bear, Grizzly Bear, Wolf Mother and any other stupid animal-named band
But seriously, I do love Summertime Clothes [Edited 12/15/09 20:12pm] [Edited 12/15/09 20:14pm]
