During the last 15 years there has been nobody in urban music that has had any real "sound" just lame kiddie rap bullshit, that seemed generic as hell. At least he is someone that made a dent of his own, like it or not. don't compare talentless losers to Prince please [Edited 12/15/09 14:08pm]

And a loser? you know how many artists would practically die for his career? MANY. Dude has been very prolific and while some of his work is hit or miss (as with all artists), within the course of what he does (contemporary R&B and pop) he has excelled at it and remained prolific. Have you seen his discography? There's no way you can look at at least 700+ songs and say he has been sitting on his ass. He's no Herbie Hancock, that's for sure - but he makes pop music. Its what he does, and he's been pretty good at it.

He uses the tools available to him to create music. You're mad because he embraces technology? You must hate a lot of music, then. With as many songs as he has, you're actually willing to say that none of them are good? Your bias sounds personal.

The stuff he did for Bjork proves that his production is ANYTHING but repetitive.

But hey, some things ain't for everybody I guess Thats true....I like the use of that bootleg Kung Fu movie "uh!!" sound....make me want to listen to it right now. yeah he may get a BIT repetitive if he is constantly around but he has definitley always changed up through the years. His instruments never sound the same when he comes back into the game. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Maybe what Timbaland is saying that he's only doing it for the money because his heart is not in it. It's to put money in his pocket and to make the music executives happy. He probably lost creative control of what he really wants done in the studio. I read and hear a lot of artists talk about this.
