I’m really getting into the genius of Mr.Charles:D

And I need help on what album’s I should buy of his cause I notice there’s A LOT of best of and that’s all I seem to find at my local stores!

I Started off with the wonderful Birth Of Soul 1952-59

Then I bought off Itunes ‘’The Great Ray Charles’’ which has two of my favorite song’s from him I Surrender Dear & Black Coffee


recently I bought Soul Brothers & The Genius Of Ray Charles [My favorite so far]


So what should I buy next?

I Know he has A LOT Of record’s and a lot of greatest hit’s & compilation’s but I’m trying to collect his best cd’s so if anyone who is a Ray fan could help I would mucho appreciate

I'm not a huge Ray fan, but I do like his music. I would recommend starting with a collection like this:



Then, I would go into his essential albums:

There is a 7cd box set "Pure Genius" which collects all of his recordings for Atlantic, that's a great place to start. My late father was a big RC fan so I was brought up listening to his music, this is a great collection.
