Why did Lil Wayne pull his album again at the last minute???
This was supposed to release 12.21. Word from the label, this is not coming because it being a rock record, may not be accpeted by the masses.

So, you thought you might be able to hold Lil Wayne’s Rebirth in your hands before New Year’s? Psych! A Universal Motown rep tells the Music Mix that Weezy’s long-delayed rock-influenced follow-up to 2008’s Tha Carter III has been pushed back yet again from its planned Dec. 21 release to an unspecified date in 2010.

I’ve lost count of how many times Rebirth has been postponed this year; for some insight into what might be going on here, check out the story we ran back in July. An assortment of follow-up singles and leaked tracks have failed to make much noise in the months since then, so it’s safe to assume that Lil Wayne’s label is still waiting for a hit before they unleash Rebirth. As we head into a new calendar year, though, it seems fair to wonder at what point they’ll simply throw up their hands and move on to the next Lil Wayne project instead of trying to make this one work.

I thought he was heading to jail at Rikers for a gun possession conviction from when he brought some unlicensed weapons to one of his concerts in New York City in 2007. I think that's why the album is being delayed.

No they are waiting for him to get out, they dont have anyone around to promote it, do videos etc... Im tired of hearing it wont be accepted? Its Lil fucking Wayne he has his following and they will buy whatever crap he tosses out there, so that label talk is crap. Garth Brooks did that Chris Gaines record and he didnt push it back a million times because he was "scared" of the response, it is what it fucking is, have some balls stand behind your work, stop this whole label P***Y talk of "we wont put it out unless it will sell" in that case dont release any music anymore, cause no one is selling.

It doesn't matter, it'll still sell.....sadly.

The long-awaited (and long-delayed) rock-influenced album from Lil Wayne has been pushed back yet again to Feb. 1, around the time that he’ll be sentenced for attempted gun possession charges. Rebirth, the follow-up to the triple platinum Tha Carter III was initially set to be released April 7th of this year, but Wayne’s label hasn’t found a hit with any of the tracks that have leaked.

Wayne has stated that Tha Carter IV is scheduled to be released next year, but he didn’t want it to immediately follow Tha Carter III. It may have to, though, because it looks like Rebirth may never see the light of day.

If he was smart, he may want to just scrap this project and let it become apocryphal legend. That sort of stuff often has more legs than official releases.
