nod It's a sucky song. The best moments on Hard Candy ("Heartbeat","Beat Goes On",etc) sound much more "celebratory" than that weak track.

I may in the minority, but I actually loved hard candy smile

Well I'm there with you. I really enjoyed Hard Candy mainly the Neptunes collabs. I don't think she should stray away from dance, but with other elements such as pop and r n b. Maybe a cd that combines some of everything she's ever done.

Some fans will disagree with me,but I think she should work with Pharrell again. He really "studied" her 80s sound, and was able to come up with songs that were tailor-made for her.

I'm one who agrees with you very much.

I haven't loved a Madonna album since "Ray Of Light" (preferred the last two before it as well).

Brenden O'Brein might give us the most interesting Madonna album in a while...or "American Life 2" (good concept, but not well executed IMHO).

The panned AL has Nothing Fails on it. Worthy of standing with any of her 80's classics imho.

Honestly in my opinion she's only made one awful album, Like a Virgin. I think all other albums she's released have stood well on their own, that one was just a throw away.

honestly i think madonna has reached the point in her career when the public is largely bored/tired of her. Sure, hardcore fans will still flock to her every concert and buy her new albums, but really, when was her last big hit? From 2001 on, she has released many singles, but only 3 were top 10 pop hits ( "Die Another Day", "Hung Up" and "4 Minutes". Sure she's still making club hits, but the pop charts were her territory, and she's lost her footing to the younger girls.

so whatever madonna...lol

Sorry I've never liked that, LAV and Material Girls are just okay singles imo. things got much more interesting in her next albums and imo she hasn't lost steam sense.

I think Madonna is at a point where she doesn't really have anything to prove.Every successful artist who's been around for many years reaches this point. It's likely that she will never have another Top 10 hit in America again, but that's okay. Her tours are hugely successful and her albums top the charts in numerous countries. She's doing just fine.

And it's not like she isn't experiencing some success these days.Just last year, she had one of the biggest hits of her career ("4 Minutes"),was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and completed a world tour that grossed over $400 million. Not bad for a "hasbeen",huh? wink

And that's part of why I love her. I just didn't feel that she put herself into Hard Candy or the Celebration tracks at all. I loved Bedtime Stories, which was also flavored with R & B, but it had so much of her character.

a couple things this time around Madonna;

1. no songs about the struggles of fame
2. no rhymes with "hesitaton/celebration". leave those words out altogether.
3. no duets with people that aren't even worthy of being in the same room with you *cough*justin*cough*
4. something with GUITARS please. i.e. Dress You Up, Gambler
5. no more substituting yoga for dance moves in videos.
6. drop the leotards. no matter how good you look.

hmmm well,to her credit, none of the songs on 'Hard Candy' deal with the price of fame lol I think she's 'over' doing songs like that.

I agree with you about the word "hesitation".Lately, she's been doing too many songs with the whole "Let's not wait/let's not hesitate" theme."Hung Up" and "4 Minutes",for example. We get it,Madonna.....time is running out,we need to do good things before the world ends.No need to keep repeating this message rolleyes

in an interview i heard in recent months, Madonna said she was still interested in exploring electronica music. hmmm i love electronica but would love her to keep it to a track or two. keep it more organic overall.

I agree.

i love the fact that she doesn't like looking back on what she's already done. that being said, there's not an album or song she's done that i don't like. even 4 Minutes...because i prefer the version where his 'vocals' have been removed! biggrin

I'm quite pleased with her entire catalog.I mean, there are a few albums that I'm not crazy about, but there's nothing that I would delete from her catalog.

never underestimate this woman. she's been written off since day one and to this day NOBODY can keep up with her. hmph!

one small little request MADONNA...could you possibly do a duet with KYLIE or George Michael? heck, make it a trio. no pressure..just throwing that out there. thanks.

disbelief NO duet with Kylie or George Michael.

No need to hide! biggrin
I like it too--the tracks at least. In fact, I think if you stripped most of terrible lyrics/singing away, think it would a great, weird album.

As for Madonna, I'd just like her songs to have some semblance of meaning again--go back to the days of writing song that have an idea in them. Religion, teen pregnancy, whatever. Not like 5 Minutes, which was about...what exactly?
