R.Kelly To Host Thanksgiving Feast For U.S. Troops

WASHINGTON, Nov. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing his long tradition of supporting the country's men and women in uniform, R&B superstar R. Kelly will be hosting a special Thanksgiving dinner Wednesday evening (Nov. 25) for 200 soldiers from Walter Reed Army Medical Center and other U.S. Army facilities in the Washington, D.C., area.

The feast will be held at Washington's Constitution Hall, where the multi-platinum-selling recording artist will be performing later in the evening as part of his multi-city "Ladies Make Some Noise!" tour. Following the dinner, the troops will attend the concert as Kelly's guests.

"There's nothing worse than being away from your loved ones at the holidays," said Kelly. "This is my way of my way of saying thank you to all the brave men and women who have given up so much in order to protect us. It's their sacrifices that allow us to sleep comfortably at night and send our children off to school in the morning."

Kelly's history of supporting the troops goes back to 2003, when his single "Soldier's Heart" became an unofficial anthem of support for American fighting men and women deployed to Iraq. Kelly donated proceeds from that song to charities that support the families of soldiers, including Army Emergency Relief. Later that year, he did a free concert for 10,000 troops at Fort Hood, Texas, that was also broadcast via satellite to soldiers serving on the front lines in Iraq.

A multiple Grammy-winner, Kelly is set to release his tenth studio album, Untitled, on Jive Records on December 1. He wraps up his sold-out "Ladies Make Some Noise!" tour on Dec. 8 in St. Louis, MO.

Hope Chester doesn't pee on the 13 to 17 year old boys and girls, since he has a propensity for both - basketball courts in DC beware of a pissy man in a leather coat that keeps his key in the ignition and loves to bump and grind on the down low, also he believes he can fly
