How do I copy FLAC files to a CD-R? I have MediaNow,but it won't burn FLAC files. Anyone know of an easy way to do this? Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

Convert them back to a WAV using this: http://flac.sourceforge.n...nload.html
If you're on Windows, obviously pick the FLAC For Windows with Installer. Install the program. Drag your FLAC files to the window, and "DECODE". The resulting WAV files will land in the folder where your FLAC files are, by default. Use the WAV to burn to CD. You're set. Remember, FLAC is just a container, and yes, it's lossless. SOME players have FLAC plugins, and some burning software might as well. But if you don't want to dig around for all that, just unpack them as I noted above. Delete the WAVs once you're done, or whatever. I know Winamp had a FLAC plugin at one time, and I believe you could use it to convert them, but I think the FLAC frontend is just lighter weight, and easier. Runs very quickly.

Just read above. Hopefully that might help you. Remember, once you have the WAVs in hand, you can listen to those, burn them as an audio CD, or even reencode them to a high rate AAC or MP3 or another more compressed format of your choosing, depending on your needs.

or U could just Google "Flac converter". I have used NCH software's Switch file converter. It's really easy to use and fast! Good luck! If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

Well I'm glad it worked for you. I've always used it. I THINK there's even a Mac program that will do it as well, but I've mainly messed w/ FLAC on my PC. Monkey's Audio is another lossless container out there (*.ape) and is just as easy to decode and use, like FLAC, if you ever run across it. Glad all is well. What were you listening to anyway?

it's alright. not really sure what the point is. it's huge file anyway. if you've got the capability to upload and download flac files, you can do the extra little bit to do .wav's.

It's because it's smaller, and quicker to send. If you have 1GB of WAV, but it's only 750MB in FLAC form, and you're not losing quality, why would you bother with the extra 250MB, despite your broadband connection???? APE, FLAC, and SHN are all good options for that very reason.

To me, if I can download 750MB, it isn't that much more of a problem to dl 1GB, whereas converting to and from flac takes another piece of software, another step, etc.

Like errant, I use VLC player to listen and Nero to burn.Never had issues with both. The Flac converter Ernest provided can convert WAV to Flac as well, which I use whenever I'm uploading stuff on the Torrent sites. Oops did I say that

flac -d file.flac then you have a wav file. you know how to properly burn wavs? Oh? You didn't say you are still using windoze? Hmm. get Nero and install some sort of codec so you can drop flacs in there? Or is it a Mac? Has this become a tech-forum for the easiest types of stuff you can find on the net? BTW: what flacs? They must be illegal and absolutely UN-american. You should buy your music legally and listen to it in legal ways. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

It saves a significant portion so it helps enough. There is no problem with burning or ripping or playing. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill...
