Yeah...I've played it a few times, and it's really not doing it for me.

Don't feel bad, I thought it sucked big time too.

I know, I know. She has this lame ass song on there about Ben Affleck too, that was around the time when they were engaged and stuck together like flies to shit.

"Bitchy, and unnecessary" - Org Post.

What's the story here? You bought it for "Back To Life" and didn't like the rest?

As a matter of fact, Back II Life (at least in America) wasn't even on this record, except for an a capella version until the 10th anniversary reissue came out in 1999. That always boggled my mind - you have this huge hit people hear on the radio, you get the CD and song isn't on there (at least the way you want to hear it). I wouldn't say I blame someone for being disappointed.
Still, with all that, for me it's a great album, one that shaped my early 20s in a big way: fasion, music and attitude all flowed together beautifully here. A blueprint for much of what emerged in the 90s.

Yeah, it's horrid on the album. It was a bait and switch if you ask me. I still wasn't totally aware of that when I picked up the CD recently and heard that a capella thing.

But the album as a whole still blows. A lot of it is just self-indulgent, and just noise. Nothing appealing about it. Thank God I got it for like $3 or something.

My worst was the Groove Theory cd. I loved the song "Tell Me" but hated the rest of the album. I was so upset that I took it back to the store for a refund.

Really? "Tell Me" is definitely the best track, but I quite enjoyed the follow-up single, "Keep Tryin'":

Yeah, I actually like "Keep Tryin'". However, it didn't grow on me or appeal to me until I saw the video.

This thread really gotta be used later for ammo lol

I'm with ya Cinnie.

One thing I'm curious about when peeps say they hate this or that record (that to me is truly top shelf stuff) is what age are they?

If you're coming 40 years late to the party and you been raised on Snoop Dogg or N'Synch before you ever hear the Beatles then I gotta take that into consideration.
