Joan Armatrading Ok, I made this thread because I want to show love to Joan Armatrading. She is fastly becoming one of my very favorite artists and her albums are steadily growing in my record collection. I just discovered her last year and she has blown me away. Most of her really good albums are out of print. I'm on a manhunt all over the web seeking out her rare out-of-print gems. I just got "Secret Secrets" (which I love) and "Me Myself I" which isn't OOP, but criminally overlooked. Joan deserves more praise and I felt it was time someone gave her some. So there. 
Some of my favorite Joan songs are... Temptation Secret Secrets I Love It When You Call Me Names Heaven Drop The Pilot Ma-Me-O-Beach All The Way From America Turn Off The Light (ONE OF THE BEST SONGS OF THE 20th CENTURY!) Jesse (oh god, I love that song) and soo much more.. Thank GOD FOR JOAN and HER MUSIC! I think I'm in love!!! | |

You may be able to help me out... what's that Joan song which has these lyrics
'im not the kind...who falls in and quickly out of love but to you, i gave my attention... right from the start... i have a lover, who loves me how can I break, such a heart? but still you get my attention... why do you call me? when you know ive got troubles (somethingorother) why do you call me? when u know i can't answer the phone? you make me lie... when i don't want to and make someone else some kind of (somethingorother) fool you make me stay...when i shouldn't have (somethingorother) brings out the weakness in me' I think, after going through the lyrics, it is 'Weakness in me'. Man, there was a time when that song was highly relevant to my life - its about loving 2 ppl at the same time. Such a very sad song. Can u confirm if that is what the title of the track is? Many artists have covered that song like Melissa Etheridge on her live CD, plus it has appeared on the "10 Things I Hate About You" SDTK. Great, great song. Here's the real lyrics for ya

I love her has well. I only have her 'Track Record' which is an out-of-print hits collection. "Love & Affection" is my favorite Joan song! "Me, Myself, & I" and "Weakness In Me" are flawless as well! Every minute of last night is on my face today.... | |
