no that's NOT fine. and you my dear are faaaar from ugly. so stop that shit right there. you are a beautiful woman. and i've seen it up close and personal.

there are ugly people...on the inside if they choose to be. God doesn't make ugly.
You a are a sweetheart. hug

But the fact is I have been called ugly for all of my life. I heard it so much I believed it. And if we're real about it, more people are more concerned about how I look outside than inside. Thankfully, I love myself. biggrin

I don't have time to watch the whole interview right now, but did they discuss the disappointing sales for "Memoirs"? Also, did the fact that she is often accused of lip-synching come up during the interview? If so, what was her response? These are the questions I'd like to hear answered. I don't want to hear about how much she loved Michael Jackson.

No but she did say that she doesn't belt out her songs anymore because she is an R&B fan and she finds belting out all the time boring or something like that

You know me & you are mostly on the same page,,,but in my case, I prefer her squeezing the piss outta her panties to the bullshit she calls singing now.

But by all means, she can call this "R&B singing" whateva lol De Nile is surely not a river that runs in Egypt, coz R&B singing requires a small dose of urine in your panties in result of wailing,,,,,which she does everything BUT, these days.

Well, that doesn't make sense. Most of her influences were R&B belters. And that's what R&B used to be about, belting out songs, singing from the soul. And she's a liar if she's using the excuse she finds belting out a song boring. The truth is she just isn't vocally cabable of doing it anymore.

Well actually I liked her more from Vision Of Love through to All I Want For Christmas Is You. Then she had the perfect voice, the perfect looks, the perfect attitude and the perfect songs (OK I wasn't a big fan of Dreamlover, Without You and Endless Love but I loved every other single she did in that period), After that she became pretty much hit and miss more on the side of hit in the late 90s and more on the side of miss this whole decade (with the exception of the Emancipation Of Mimi singles which were simply great). I don't really mind her new voice but the voice I am listening to now has nothing to do with the voice that was so breathtaking in 'MTV Unplugged'. And listening to her singing 'Hero' or 'I'll Be There' now is just painful. I guess she is one of the very few singers who instead of going from sexy to classy, she went from classy to (not-so) sexy.

I've always liked listening to Mariah in interviews, as she has a colorful personality. And, I look forward to seeing her in "Precious," as I loved her in the movie "Wise Girls". I know she has potential as an actress.

But, her response to the question of whether her voice has changed was some ole nonsense. Girlfriend knows she lost a lot of the elasticity in her voice as well as a considerable amount of range. They played a bit of that cover of Journey (?) and I didn't her nothing but whistle and air!!

The last time her vocals were great was around 2001 during Glitter.

Sadly it gets worse.

She didn't take good care of her voice as the years went on, and while I do believe that vocal nodules issue played a part, there could have been more to it like partying post Tommy Mottola, and resorting to bad habits like smoking or drinking. She w

She might have been unhappy around Mottola, but Mottola kept her disciplined as shit and pushed her toward excellence.

Her music after 2000 leaves a lot to desired for.

Emancipation of Mimi was a good album, but doesn't compare to her self-titled, Music Box, Emotions, Daydream, or Butterfly.

That's BS on her part if she said that, she was belting out high notes during Butterfly too- remember Whenever You Call, My All?? Also When You Believe, and I still Believe in 1998.

Her voice was still good that time.

Around 1999, the changes became evident. Around the time, she took a deep dive into the r&b thing. Her voice was pretty good that time too, but it was losing the power it once had.

When her voice started going away, she probably said- to hell with the old stuff, now I'll only succeed, when I go full blown r&b. She was probably worried the critics were going to bash her.
