http://www.panachereport....bsDied.htm

Many of these people I had no idea had passed on.

It's like a staple around here. I'm surprised any of you would say in 2009 you were shocked this person died. lol I read Jet magazine so I been knew about Merlin Santana and 'em.

They weren't big time celebrities anyway. That's why they died without "fanfare". Rather die quietly than with flowers around me so deep I can't smell 'em, lol

Because more often than not the press in the USA/States don't acknowledge the deaths of well known African- Americans unless they have gone "mainstream".

The father of Avery Brooks (Captain Ben Sisko) dies with little fanfare, I don't know weather he was a celeb or not.

Great Site! I check it like once a month. Ive always found it odd that no one knows how Wayne Cooper from Cameo died. They're saying either in a plane crash in 1981 or of AIDS in 1984. How is it possible know one know how or when he died, but they know he's dead? Thats a little eerie boxed lol

Well, someone froma sitcom is not a huge megastar.

People like Luther Vandross, who was never in the super league, still had his own funeral and SW sang.

Also I can only assume how many racists there are in the USA who don't like to report about dead blacks.

BUT

After all, it's popularity and the people who decide who's death is important or not. Talent, not race should be the reason for coverage.
