The bassline always reminded me of Chuckii Booker's "Games" only sped up. Take a listen and compare if you will, but just imagine the original version in your head, 'cause the assholes over at Warner Music Group are on that copyright trip again lol

1997. Heard that song PLENTY working in Record Town in the Mall of America when I lived in Minneapolis. I loved it, and still do. There's a few remixes that are decent. Some are just longer versions, not real remixes. One starts with a long piano interlude at the beginning.

I like the one with the piano interlude, I also loved the "street" mix of it with just Mark and a DJ scratching.

This guy was a total jerkoff, plain and simple, I had to sit through this ass do his lame song on a summer jam or summer fest, i have no clue what it was even called all i remember is that he was singing and started some shit with the crowd in front and started cursing at them, he had two of the ugliest girls dancing and they had the nerve to wear tight shit with there nasty ass bodies so out of shape. He landed up getting booed off stage, which was the kind of the highlight of the night, i was there to see "SHADES" the RB girl group who had an album at the time, and Keith Sweat was the headliner for this event, i mean it showed the downhill that RB was on, this event had like 10 acts all had current hit singles , plus you had Keith headlining, and the place wasnt even half full.

This guy was British and the song dates from 1994, it was a huge hit in Britain and New Zealand (Less big in Oz and the US). He was a one hit wonder. I believe it was re released in 1997 Stateside. I think he got arrested a few years ago. It sounds very American though

Untrue on the dates. It wasn't recorded until sometime in 1995, and released in the UK early 1996. It was released in the US in early 1997.

"Where Is Our Love" / "You've Changed" was released in 1993, but failed to make any impact. He had two singles in 1995 before "Return of the Mack".

Mark Morrison has some potential. But his on again/off again trouble with the law in the UK prevent him from any opportunity to get out of the one-hit wonder status.

Its 95 then we heard it, I might have got it confused with "What is love" by Haddaway which definetley was 94.

yes Mark Morrison is an asshole and a bit of an idiot to keep getting arrested.

but he wasn't a one hit wonder.

he actually had more than 7 or 8 top ten hits from his first album.

I believe he was born in the UK, but actually lived in the USA during his teens, and started his music when he came back to the UK.

the first album is actually quite good. Better than any shitty so called r&b these days. Plenty of excellent songs on there.

he had a second EP called Who's the mack, that was ok, but more of a rehash of the first album.

His last album, he had a pretty decent song on it, called "just a man", a pretty damn good soulful track. It's a pity it went unnoticed, as it was a decent return for him.

he's got another album coming out, so maybe he might have some more decent songs on there, who knows.

love I love the "Just A Man" song....looks recent. He actually looks younger in that video than the ones he did in '97. Voice sounds better too. I like the "Best Friend" song too. You are right, the songs weren't that bad.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Love the song...it is on almost all of my Napster compilation mix CDs. Just one of those songs that gives you this artificial sense of cockiness or something. When you play it, it makes you feel like "the mack" you know, that is until someone makes fun of you for jamming to a 12 year old one hit wonder and stuff. Then you just feel all bad again.

I liked this song. I am not crazy about his voice, but it´s a cool song. Yeah, the 90´s.

What I find ironic is that George Michael's Fast Love sounds similar to Return of the Mack...
