I loved it! I think "This Is It" is a must see!
It really helps us to see Michael as the person he really was, as compared to the person the media portrayed him as. His ability to dance like that while singing actually made me forget he was 50 years old! I was truly impressed! [Edited 10/29/09 19:20pm] Wake up!......Wake up!

i just got back from seeing this is it. i have had mixed feelings about mj over the last few years after being one of his biggest fans throughout my childhood but this film made me remember what it was that made me love this dude. at age 50 he still had it and it makes me even sadder that he's no longer here. also i am so glad they left out the tear jerkers (you are not alone, gone too soon, will you be there),and im especially happy they didnt put the dates 1958-2009 at the end.i enjoyed the music and would have loved to see this concert.

So I saw This Is It last night and mostly just enjoyed hearing his music and seeing his performance. I was surprised how music heavy it was. I had a broad smile alot through the film and it was SO good to actually hear him sing predominantly live for the first time in a performance setting in a long time. He still had it. I loved the end of I Just Can't Stop Loving You where he sings out (and he was self aware enough to know that he shouldn't be doing it )
I did start to feel weepy towards the end because I did feel like "He's really gone. That was it." I think I'll go see it again on the big screen while I can. [Edited 10/28/09 20:50pm]

When this movie leaves theaters, I'm going to be really sad. I love being able to see MJ on the big screen. It feels like he came back to life. When the movie disappears from theaters, it will kind of feel like losing him again. Enjoy it on the big screen while you can everyone.
Thank G-D for the DVD. Coming soon I hope. MJ Fan 1992-Forever

I saw it TWICE today so that's to tell you how much I loved it! I really loved how dedicated Michael was to his music and performances. He really was the one running the show and that's very clear in the film. I have even more respect for him than I did before.
My favorite segments were "Earth Song", "Thriller", "They Don't Care About Us" and "Smooth Criminal". All were awesome! They would have been SO AMAZING live. I didn't think it was even possible for me to love Michael any more than I did, but I do after seeing the movie. He's great. He really is. I'll probably see the movie again this weekend. Just got back from seeing THIS IS IT it was indeed THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH !
my favorite parts from MJ was hearing him say for the intro to The Way You Make Me Feel... " You gotta let it simmer" says Michael the music that is The green room scene for TDRCAU the choreography OUT OF THIS WORLD and yes who wouldn't cry during I'll Be There and seeing the dancers into the performance and wanting MORE ! Michael was about to ignite that magic which only he can do ... after tonight I missed him so much the silence during the beginning of the movie was the sound of time standing still

The ONLY problem with it for me, was, seeing
"This Is It" Written by Michael Jackson Did he really write it? After all that fuss and yada yada, I hated that the first song that is released after his death, with the same title as his movie, gets some crap thrown at it in the press. I'm so glad that the positive reviews/fan reactions to the film are blowing that story of the specifics of the song out of the water, even if the Estate was at fault, but I hope seeing that on the screen during the credits doesn't remind anyone of that junk. Someone tweet Kenny and tell him to edit that stuff before the DVD drops. On a related note, wasn't MJ going to release the song "This Is It" on a greatest hits cd when the tour was going on anyway? Was "This Is It" going to be the single, or was it going to be something else? I remember a few days before MJ's death in June someone on the org talked about hearing new MJ music on the radio. Does anyone know, was it, "This Is It?" [Edited 10/29/09 0:12am] MJ Fan 1992-Forever

I heard Sony searched for some unreleased song from the vaults and found I NEVER HEARD and changed the title to THIS IS IT. So, I don't belive it was chosen by MJ. Remember: The song was a give away! Do you really believe MJ would do this. Also, I think the song is not "big" enough for a MJ comeback single (for MJ's taste).

I would have been for I Can't Help It, Speechless, Baby Be Mine, P.Y.T.... why not sth like that? As always with MJ people tend to overreact and hype things up a little more than necessary. Rumor has it that he was going to be doing different songs every now and then (I doubt we'd get PYT or I Can't Help It, but songs like Dirty Diana, Off The Wall, etc. sound feasible) and also have guest stars from time to time. I also heard the band and backup vocalists had to know several songs from the catalog that were not rehearsed or performed live. [Edited 10/28/09 18:58pm] Right on the cinema I thought: What if he would have asked Paul McCartney for a guest appereance? After al, Paul lives in London and maybe they could have become friendly again and sing The Girl Is Mine.

Vanilli said: As for seeing Michael during the trial...it was spooky for me to say I am so glad I was there, for both, to support my hero and also to see him in person. It was probably the hardest time of Michael's entire life, and each day, he walked in the room, confident as ever. He smiled. The courtroom every morning had a lottery, and I was lucky enough to always get in the 3 days I was in California, and got to see him every day - all day for those 3 days. A few vague memories from Santa Maria: You always knew he was coming into the courtroom because his mom would arrive first and she would tell everyone good morning. Everyone would always respond, "Good Morning Mrs. Jackson." She would smile and sit down graciously. (Michael got his humble ways from someone, now we know who. Was there ever a doubt?) Then Michael would walk in. My 3 days there, during late May, he was very much coherent. No sunglasses in the courtroom or anything. Red armband on his suit and all. Rocking style like only MJ could. I remember the first time I saw him in person, I turned to the person sitting next to me in the courtroom. (a fellow fan who I met outside the courtroom lottery), and said, "Michael is coming!" and I had this feeling like a little kid about to meet Santa, or better yet, Superman! This was my childhood (and adulthood) hero walking in the door. He walked in, nodded to a few people, and took his seat. I had a close view of him. He was very alert. Then during courtroom breaks, he would walk to a private area to meet with his family members, and Frank DiLeo, and talk. As he would do that, each day, us fans would catch on quickly to Michael's routine, so we'd try to leave the courtroom early and go wait in the Hallway - so we could be near him, as opposed to being in that yucky courtroom with Sneddon and Diane Diamond. The court rules were fans could NOT acknowledge Michael, or even smile at him, unless he initiated it first. We also weren't allowed to wear any Michael Jackson clothes or clothes that resembled his, because it might influence the jury somehow. Each day on his way to his break, he would stop, and just look at us. Who knows if he grasped we were fans, or he might have thought, "What the fuck are these fools doing here starring at me?" Either way, he would stop, and just look at us, then walk on his way. I remember the day Chris Tucker and Jay Leno were there, my friend from back home also got into the courtroom, and mentioned to me, "Dude, I sat right next to Jay Leno while he was waiting to testify. Did you see him?" and I remembered thinking, "How can you care about some tv host, when MICHAEL FUCKING JACKSON is in the same room as you?!? Hello?!?" Anyway, needless to say when Chris Tucker walked in, he acknowledged Michael, hugged him, and hugged his Mom (if I remember right) and sat down. He cracked several jokes that even Michael laughed at. I also remember one day, Sneddon walked in, and I gave him a dirty look. He gave me a dirty look back. I also remember, one day Diane Diamond walking to her seat, and I tripped her. She looked back at me and I smiled. She just turned around. I realize, with Michael's passing, she probably got some of the hate that should have been directed at Sneddon, but my logic was, MJ put Sneddon in his place with "D.S." and the fans put Diane Diamond in her place, by making her life in 2005 rough. I also remember meeting Frank DiLeo. He took time to chat with every fan who approached him. He asked me how long I had been a fan, how I heard about Michael, smiled, saying things like "Michael would be so glad you are here," To say he is sincere is only the start. He truly cared about MJ. Not many people were there for Michael during that time, but he was. I'm so glad he was a part of MJ's life during Michael's final days. It makes me sad though wondering what could have been of their renewed partnership. It is my understanding that during late June, leading up to the verdict, Michael was really drugged up. As much as I wanted to stay until the verdict, I'm kind of glad the last time I saw him in person, he was at least alert. I'd hate to think of him as being in some drugged up rut. Back on topic, "This Is It" was also thrilling to simply see Michael in his element, smiling, dancing, clearly enjoying himself, and erasing all these tragic stories about him as of late. [Edited 10/28/09 16:40pm] Thank you for that story. That trial was such a sad thing, it was the nail in his coffin. And he looked so sick and frail. I guess he really appreciated that his fans were there for the moral support. Did you witness him jumping at the roof of the car? Frank DiLeo had - I think- a good contact with MJ's fanbase. He mentioned on Larry King that A FAN informed him that something was wrong with Michael and that made him drive to the house. Another think, were you also part of this video? Fans performing Tom Sneddon. http://www.youtube.com/wa...bBxQsNQt9c

I think they used the What About Us demo vocal track with Michael singing over it 15、Billie Jean Michael wasn't giving 100% with this one and danced to the vocal track from the studio demo or another mix until it was time for the adlibs. Michael still had the moves! I think these 2 were completely live. At first I thought it sounded like the record but then he would change up a phrasing or something or he would do something and you could tell it was live. Knocked me out because I've never heard him sound that good live! MITM, can't remember exactly and they only played a short bit, but I seem to remember thinking this was live at the time. Gee I feel like such a bad fan. I didnt enjoy it as much as I thought I would from reading everyones reviews. I think it might have had a little to do with I'm from a small town and there were only about 8 other people in the cinema and it was an old crappy cinema at that. The thing that dissapointed me the most was there wasnt much behind the scenes stuff, like the rehearsals of the rehearsals, if that makes sense. Like more of Michael talking, directing, vocal warms up, acapella singing etc. I didnt really enjoy the actual stage rehearsals as much, as I watched the Dangerous tour to get me excited before I left and it was exactly the same performances (Although I loved all the new elements they taped for the screens especially Earth Song). That was actually when I really started getting into it, when Earth Song came on, and the fact that I kept thinking 'DAMN I was going to be THERE' at those concerts instead of a dingy movie cinema. Man I wish I lived in the big cities so I could of experienced what you guys did. I just know the experience would of been so much more had I been surrounded by fans.

yeah, it may have been fun to see live....but there was no way he was going to do any singing and he does not really move like he used to either corny and sad at the same time hopefully though this will be the last news of MJ for quite a while

My cinema was a bit too noisy with people yelling "Michael" the whole time. I wish they would have just shut up. Someone yelled, "Shut up. This is not a concert" and the responses were, "Well it might as well be," "this is the concert" and what not. And this was on a Wednesday evening. I can't imagine what it would be like during the weekend. But it was still fun because some people dressed up and it was a nice atmosphere.
Nonetheless, I really enjoyed it. I thought it would be sad but I didn't find it sad at all. I like that they just focused on his performances. The rehearsals of the rehearsals would have been good but I guess they were trying to get it under 2 hours. Personally, I wanted a lot more. I wish it had run for an additional hour because I was really into it when the thing just ended. and I guess almost everybody else was too because they were all reluctant to leave even after all the credits had rolled. The IJCSLY performance was so cute.

Imagine watching "this is it" in High def on a 40" screen with pure digital sound. its shot HD so it should look even better than in the cinema.
